I'm expert weaponsmith (0 3 0 4) And I have advanced power handlers, advanced pistol barrels ect. and I'm looking on various websites for weapons I will make in the future but none of the schematics call for any advanced component. My question is, what are they used in or are they just more effective to use than the normal ones?

The advanced parts are used in place of the non-advanced parts. Yes, the point of them is that the advanced parts are supposed to be more effective than the non-advanced.
