Thread: Reducing HAM Costs
Hi everyone,
I recently became a master weaponsmith but I've not actually made many guns yet - I've just spent weeks grinding steel. I've just made a pretty good FWG5, but I gave it to a friend to test out to see if she likes it. She likes it but complained about the HAM costs being too high.
What do I need to experiment on to reduce HAM costs?
Durability.
Better yet, make friend witha doctor and a chef and max the damage and refer her to the chef/doctor for buffing.
You didn't make any weapons while grinding? Shame on you.
You'll also find that if you experiment on efficience instead of damage for an FWG, your friend will be ticked off that you gave her such a gimpy gun.
If you want a low-ham weapon, get a weapon that is innately low-ham (scout blaster)
As an aside, on ARMOR, durability will reduce HAM costs.
don't change it by a significant percentage ( a few percent at best), so
you can then put them to HAM and get a better percentage increase
or go to Range. The problem is that customers don't think this way,
so you end up maxing damage anyway, and then dealing with the
points left.
So, Range or HAM? Ask 10 customers, and 9 will probably tell
you HAM. I'm not sure I agree though, because I would think
a better shot to hit would be better than the slight change
in HAM. Then again, I'm not sure it makes a significant difference.
so I do what the customers seem to want.
However, would you rather have a (as an example) +3 @ 50 that is
20/20/20 or a +1 @ 50 that is 19/19/19?
