Thread: Creating a killer : A T21 Krayt Rifle's story.
Had one of my "higher end" customers requested a T21 rifle made with Krayt tissues that he supplied. I protested that it would be a waste, but he insisted. The tissues were standard +30, -0.3. I should note that this is Lowca where Alantium has never officially spawned, so I only managed to get my meager pile from some generous smiths on the server. T21's on Lowca are very rare.
Conveniently enough, a brand new, fantastic Irolunn had spawned that very night. 953 OQ (I dropped 4 heavies on it immediately).
The power handlers:
16 Decewoth, Irolunn Reactive Gas (953 OQ)
5 Eci, Ostrine Carbonate Ore (635 OQ)
10 Eiadied, Polymer (938 OQ)
10 Etewoo, Phrik Aluminum (713 CD, 749 OQ)
5 Vorigug, Diatium Copper (711 CD, 532 OQ)
Stats : 19-67, -0.67
Barrel. I went with a standard BRB for speed reasons. The miniscule damage increase on an ABRB couldn't overcome the hideous speed cost.
5 Carbabidiiam, crystalline gemstone(674 SR)
53 Trivekiaroris, copper (965 CD, 822 OQ)
Stats : 9/9/9, -0.45
Stock. Customer opted for the optional advanced weapon stock. He wanted reduced HAM, but I recommended going 50% HAM, 50% damage experimentation because of the speed hit.
28, Odaotaupar, Corellian Deciduous Hardwood (602 SR)
8 Wibo, Link-steel aluminum (804 SR)
Stats : 20, 20, +0.637. 17/17/17
Final combine:
10 Krayt power handlers
Rifle Barrel
Advanced Weapon Stock
150 Keti, Ditanium Steel (432 CD, 827 OQ)
85 Durivooseihauiam, Polonium Iron (58 CD, 967 OQ)
20 Trivekiaroris, Polysteel copper (965 CD, 822 OQ)
15 Vepav, Gallinorian Rainbow Gems (958 OQ)
30 Ipidris, Alantium Carbonate Ore (985 OQ)
Final Stats, unsliced:
Damage : 150-405 (33.6% wound)
Attack Speed : 7.5
Range Modifiers : -70, +8, +10
HAM : 58/52/91
Whew. That oughta be the best T21 on Lowca for some time. Was fun to do, if a bit scary with the potential for crit'ing on 11 identical Krayt tissues ![]()
I now open the floor for the rest of you guys to crush my dreams.

What do you mean Alantium has never officially spawned? How could you get any at all then?
Long story short: One smith was "less than honest" with a CSR and was given Alantium Ore as a reimbursal. The other smiths on the server caught on and there was a huge debacle over the incident. A friend of another smith had acquired large amounts of this ore through a CSR later on, and that smith decided to distribute it amongst the rest of the Masters on the server, in order to make T21s fair game for everyone.
The original smith could no longer corner the market and gouge prices for T21s, and Riflemen no longer had to shell out large prices for such weapons. I think the original smith is now retired.
btw, you can't get a resource from a CSR unless its spawned on your server at least once, otherwise it dosen't appear on there resource list so they can't give it to you, a CSR has already told me that when i tryed to get rainbow gems for my server ![]()
Thats a **edit** nice rifle. It will be hard, but try to let the customer know to WAIT on a slice. I keep hearing that Master Smugglers will be able to choose their slice. I would hate to see that thing with a speed slice.
**edit** I wish I had a T21 that nice.

it can't be considered best till you slice it. I can make a damage sliced one better than that easily. Right now it's just a regular T-21 with a low damage slice, for the cost of 11 tissues.
No...
Its a regular T-21 that beats a low damage sliced one and can STILL be sliced...
Thats a HUGE difference....

If it ever spawned, it was in for only a few hours. None of the weaponsmiths had ever seen it and couldn't find any guildmates or friends who'd seen it.
