Hi. Im working my way up the weapon smith proffession but have a question? I grind to get to master and want to know what gives most xp? First i thought blasters like a DH17 short carbine would give more xp than a blaster rifle barrel but ive noticed that blaster rifle barrels give more xp than the DH17!

DH17 gives 105 xp

Blaster Rifle barrels give 125 xp

I also thought at first that the highest complexity on a weapon or weapon component tells you if it will give you lots of xp or not. I figured an item with complexity of 25 would give more xp than an item with complexity 22! But obviously that's not the case!?

Now my question really: What gives most xp in grinding to be master weaponsmith???

Thanks you dear colleagues!

I use Rifle Projectile Barrels. They give 94-96 XP in practice mode, you only need steel (no gemstone) and only require 4 clicks if you're using a macro. I don't use a macro, but even so I can grind out about 2,000-3,000 XP just waiting for a shuttle.

Exp gained = twice the number of resources used. Blaster rifle barrels are one of the highest-yield items, but you have to doubleclick5 times to make one, and they require two resources. Projectile rifle barrels are slightly less exp per item, but only use steel and 2 doubleclicks.

I am a lower level weaponsmith, and the most xp you get for the recources used item is the weapon upgrade kit. 20 metal and 10 chem for 64 xp. more clicks, but conserves recources.

practice mode just makes you not actualy create the item but still get exp for it.

Actually practice mode also gives a bonus to the exp. At one time, due to a glitch, they were actually awarding 50% more xp instead of 5% That was a *very* fun 2 day rush to WS

What ever happened to the FAQ that someone had started and needed to be stickied?

I mean, this question only comes up 2-3 times a day.

Don't forget to factor in the crafter's downtime for each schematic, too. (How long you have to wait for that crafter to become useable again). The Projectile Rifle Barrel takes, what--eleven seconds to make after you hit the create button? Other items, while giving more XP, take MUCH longer to produce, reducing the overall grind efficiency. I guess we should look at an XP-per-minute rate when it comes to determining the best item to grind.

If you've got multiple weapon crafting kits then production time becomes less of a factor. When i was grinding my way to master I had 5 crafting kits so by the time i went down the line the first one was done producing. Plus I would see if I could all 5 going at the same time(little things to keep myself entertained).
