Experimentation is VITAL toany crafting profession. It's the mainreason why master weaponsmiths can make such more powerful versions of weapons than a novice can.

To experiment on weapons, find a Crafting Station for Weapons, Droids and General Items to match your tool. Stand near it, and make a weapon. During the process, you'll get the option to experiment. Depending on how much experimentation skill you have, you'll get a number of points to use to try to enhance the item you're crafting.

New weaponsmiths have 2 points to use, and you get more as you go up the crafting line. You can use each points to try to gamble an improvement for your weapon's damage, efficiency, durability, or range, or any combination of those four. Click each bar to allocate an experimentation point, then click Run Experiment. You'll see thenew stats on your weapon, which are usually betterbut could be worse, if you get a critical failure (which resets the item down to its base stats).

If you want to see how good experiemented items can be, make some artisan stuff near whatever crafting station matches the non-generic tool you're using, and you'll get several points to use.

What I am doing, and what ive heard is the best way to do things:

  • Grind to firearms 1 (so you can make blaster rifle barrels)

  • Grind the barrels all the way from novice straight up the experimentation tree

  • Grind the rest off the firearms tree

  • You will then have 0-4-0-4

  • At that point you can sell laser rifles and carbines for decent prices, start making money

  • Then start working the munitions and brawling weapons trees, no specific order is needed (depending on what you may want to make for prospective customers, you may want to tailor your grind)

Basically, Fireing weapons WAYYYY outsell other weapons, so that and experimentation are the most important.

My advice is to do firearms before weapon crafting. You may make a low quality weapon but some people will take a cheap low quality weapon. you would make a little money, but you should atleast get crafting 1 to make anything buyable. (is that a word?)

I would have to agree with the idea to get Weapon crafting IV before you get anything else.

Granted, if u get firearms IV first, you can make lasers etc.....but for what purpose? You will only be able to sell a handful at most as the stats will be poor.

If you get Weaponcrafting IV, you can do what I did and start mass producing DLT20's , DH17's, DL44's and Scout blasters to sell on the bazaar at 3k each. They sell pretty well.

So to summarise,

Go Firearms IV first if you wanta variety of weapons.

Go Weaponcrafting IV first if you actually want to make any money

Good Luck!
