A moderate success rate should make the product slighly better, as of now it makes it slightly worse and always has. As a long time weaponsmith and a master Architech(been playing since launce) the absolute worse thing you can see during crafting is a "moderate success", its like a moderate failure instead.

I could send you some screenshots and data so you can see the difference. Have a CSR email me in game and I will prove it with my own resources.......a moderate success=moderate failure

I welcome a Dev or CSR to prove me wrong......

I find moderate successes make an item slightly weird.

You've probably noticed that normally, with regular failures and great / amazing successes, there is a kinda "slider" for the stats on something you can make.

for example: Powerups. Normally they'll either be 2 or 3 stat mod powerups. However... if you get a moderate success or two, you can end up with a 4, 5, or sometimes even 6 stat mod powerup.

Same thing with weapons. I've got a Projectile Feed Mechanism I'm saving that does -2.07 to speed, due to a moderate success

I've been wonderinb about that. The moderate success rate doesn't increase the stat, but lower it slighly. I would assume it will increase slightly and only failure rate decreases it.

an amazing success sometimes will lower something like dmg or speed.....happens every now and then not to often but it kind of a pain....

and yes the moderat success thing blows....i cant really see any success in that what so ever

But this phenomena does not happen with all crafting professions.

My character being a combination Doc / WS... used to be architect, weaponsmithing is the only place I have seen so many moderate successes to make me think something is inherently broken with WS experimentation.

Making medical supplies, I have never seen a moderate success(who we kidding...its a failure), architecture... moderate once in a great while. Weaponsmithing...seems like every other experiment chance is a moderate.

moderate sucess is a weird animal. Usually it sucks and you end up with junk, but on a few ocassions it is a good thing. It does do weird things at times. It is like it in itself has a failur rate and an amazing sucess rate. I just hate to see them because you never know what they are going to do.

I found that while making VKs and putting one point into dmg at a time I will hit a moderate success 9 times out of 10 on the 4th point. It was really weird, my solution was to put 2 points in at a time and I actually avoided the moderate success that way and got a much better item in the end.

I think it happens when you get close to the max. stats. for your resources. Using two points at a time i was able to get to 96% dmg with no moderate success. With one point at a time I would hit the moderate success and get less than 96%. Not sure if this was just a weird crafting glitch but it works for me.

there are a LOT of weaponsmith schematics that are this way... whenever i get a moderate success at some point in making the weapon i will note what % i got the moderate at and tailor my experimentation on the next one to avoid getting to that point... if i need to experiment 2-3 points to avoid the problem area that will be what i do...

The WS crafting numbers (code)appear to be working on a completely separate rules from AS, and perhaps all the other crafting profs also(???). I hardy EVER get moderate success's with my armor, its usually a great success or a critical failure. But the % on moderate's for WS is astounding...like %10 - 25% of my points turn into a moderate success...and thats while crafting a normal weapon scope with all the OQ in the 900+ range. I also experience more critical failures on assembly as a WS.

As stated before a moderate success should increase stats slightly (and occur less frequently at Master). I get variable results whenever this happens..sometimes a boost in speed while damage goes down, or a boost in max damage while min damage takes a dive. Or sometimes it turns out to be the same thing as a normal failure....very odd.

And yes I am using a 14.8 crafting tool and a 42+ crafting station.

Hmmm.....if all the profsAREworking of the same crafting code (which would make sence as it would save memory or something).....perhaps it is taking into account the MAL stat unknowingly...its not like armor where you can have average to low MAL on your minerals but some hi MAL numbers on your hide to offset,(from whatI understand MAL & OQhelp determine the outcome of your experimentation....someone correct me ifI'm wrong) and your working with (virtual) cloth.Seeing as most steel & iron (and several other minerals) usualyhave average or lower MAL could this be the cause?

dunno...just thinking to much perhaps......or is it to little??
