We must ensure the changes in Publish 7 to Weapon Experimentation do not go live. Currently when making a Republic blaster, I need 6 points to max damage, I can then use 4 on range and HAM. Under Publish 7 I will need to use 10 point to max Damage. This also means there is no recovery on a "Moderate Success" EVER! All Krayt weapons will be trashed.

The changes in Publish 7 serve no benefit and only serve as a massivenerf to Crafters. Please ensure this change does not go live! Let Thunderheart know these are BAD!

Part of the problem I see here is that some of the resources we use have hard caps on the stats that we require for use. Plumbom Iron, Nuetronium Steel, Duranium Steel, Rhodium Steel...all have extremely low conductivities but are required rares. Desh copper for instance has a pretty crappy unit toughness but is a required rare for adv vibro units.

Didn't they attempt this a few months back and scrapped it due to items on test server being signifcantly worse than waht was currently ingame? I think we need to see some hard numbers and comparisons...new system vs. old using the exact same resources. If I am reading it correctly it looks like every crafting class is going to get hosed, mainly due to the hard caps they have put on some of the rare resources. If that assumption turns out to be correct, then either the change should not go through OR resources need to be looked at and the caps totally removed on them...ie any resources has the possiblity to spawn with 1000/1000 in any of the stats. Basically the way I read it now, this change combined with artificially placed stat caps on resources will cause everythign we make to be lower quality and stats...

Which makes every single weapon we currently have similar to the prepatch fw's, scatters, and launchers some people are so adamant about seeing being removed from the game. Think old smiths have an advantage over new smiths now? How big of an advantage will this translate to smiths that try to startup after publish 7...scary stuff.

Read over some of the other posts as well as Logix's post. Hopefully this turns out to be better than how I am interpretting it. When it hits test, if TH hasn't posted some comparison numbers by then we will atleast be able to hear from the crafters there if its a change for the better/worse or just a change in general.
