Thread: Resource stat's
Hi,
i'm justa novice master weaponsmith, so bear with me if i make any mistakes in my explainantion.
When i started out, i was running on OQ for everything, only to realise that some of the stuff that i made was quite sub par.
Have come to realise that your best guidance is got from the schematic itself, it tells you which statistics have a bearing on the otcome of experimentation (i.e. impact melee weapons rely more on shock resistance and unit toughness than on oq. Similarly, firearms focus on conductivity and overall quality.)
Therefore depending on what you are crafting a certain attribute of the reource would be more important.
Of course this might all change with publish 7.....
I hope that this has been of some help

1. You see a new shift of rhodium steel and the stats look bad, but you want to check it out.
Use the resource usage tool and select rhodium steel from the drop down. In this case, you'll see two items, Advanced Blaster Pistol Barrel and Advanced Blaster Rifle Barrel.
Choose the rifle barrel, and you'll see that it uses 50% Conductivity and 50% Shock Resistance. Not all items use the same stats, though in this case, they're both CD/SR, no OQ involved at all.
2. You are planning to make something and want to see which resource is best.
Use the "find" tool and select rhodium steel again (assuming we're going to make that rifle barrel above). In the Conductivity and SR boxes put in 50% each and click submit. In my case, on Lowca, the best possible rhodium steel for this has CD 75 and SR 559. (I picked Rhodium steel to make this point.)
I personally have let several "uber" shifts on resources pass by because I thought the stats were crap without comparing. Until you get the feel for which resources are always low, always use the tools.
