Wanted to resurrect this old topic, but couldnt find the post:

What are the best damage ranges that you have gotten on advanced blaster power handlers and advanced blaster rifle barrels?

Mine:

ABPH

20-40

ABRB

11-11 (ouch)

My barrels stink, and I am having a hard time finding better resources. How much better can these things get?

Advanced blaster rifle barrels (and pistol barrels in most cases) are utter crap. Many of the resources (especially the Rhodium Steel)are hard capped, so it's not your fault that you can't find them. They simply do not exist. Just use the standard version.

Yes, advanced blaster barrels are hard capped by bad resources, but they still have higher damage than standard barrels. I use advanced barrels in everything, even though they may be a little slower than standard barrels. In my experience, my customers care more about damage than speed.

Advanced Pistol Barrels come out with double the damage of regular pistol barrels, so I try and use those.

Advanced Rifle Barrels are iffy. They come out with 3-4 more damage than a regular rifle barrel, a bit slower, but, I end up dropping a bunch of leftover points into range, so I get a really nice ideal range bonus. Couple it with a no-ham scope, and it's a sure way to really boost accuracy at a minor cost to speed.

ABPH
21/41/-0.41
20/40/-0.42

I made a bunch of these on Lowca, in a research town, with no extra tapes or sea points. My ABRBs are 11/11 like yours, no doubt due to the crap rhodium we all get. I think they're only 3/3 better than the non-advanced with max resources.

You still play on intrepid right? Yes, the rifle barrel is only about .1 slower, which doesn't make a huge difference in most rifles, so depending on the needs of the customer, thatcould be useful for the +3 damage (/snicker) and the +10ish range mod over using the normal barrel. But 15 is hardly double 9, and i just can't justify using the pistol barrels on most weapons since the .2 speed difference constitutes 9-13% of the speed of the average pistol. Unless you have speed mods that allow you to spam specials at the speed cap, those 6 pts of damage aren't going to help you at all.

I use regular barrels like... 99% of the time. I've got crates of both types sitting around, and it's easier.

I think I've gotten some advanced pistol barrels near 16 or 17 max, which, when I'm getting 8-9 on for damage is double.

Anyways, I prefer using the dungeon pistol barrels, because 20-25 damage, with 12 ideal ain't too shabby imo

I am going to slap some advance barrels on a crate of flame throwers tonight. The Damage stinks 10 min 10 min and the speed is slower than the normal ones but i can get them to +17 ideal range mod. Stick a scope ond Advanced stock on this bad boy (all experimentaed for range) and you get a HUGE bonus to hit. i made a few and sold them at 40k apiece and they flew off the shelves.

But they do suck

Thanks for the replies, this saves me the trouble of attempting to find better resources!
