Thread: Novice Weaponsmith Dilema

I've been in the game since day 1...err 2 
but I've only done combat professions, and had a lot of fun I might add. Well, I shouldn't say ONLY combat profs, cause I did do Doctor, but other than that- all combat.
So I figured I'd give WS a go. Nevermind the fact that they don't tell you Master Artisan might as well be a required component to WS, AND the fact that at novice you get schematics for stuff you can't make (DLT20 rifle), I was grinding my way up melee weapons crafting quite nicely once I got Intermediate and started making heavy axes, thank god for those factory crates of reinforcement cores.
Anyway, I was finishing off the master melee crafting box last night, (was 3/0/0/0) and since I still had some crates of cores in my inventory, I figured I'd grind out the next 35k so I could get another box while I was at it. I mean the xp requirement for master melee is 77k, so I can max out at 154k, right? Well, ofcourse not, 100k maxed out, ended up wasting 9k in weapon xp finishing off the crates in my inventory.
After the cursing was done, I went to the trainer and got trained. Woohoo! I'm a Swordsmith, great and with 23k towards another box, so I figure I'll just sit down and grind out one more box before I go to bed, however I'm a little apprehensive, so I make one axe and check my xp... 23k on the dot, ok, make another... 23k on the dot. **edit**? So I log out.
Anyone know what's going on here?

I forget what the xp level is for the first box. But once you hit that level you can only go so far over it. Since master doesn't require anything but apprentice points (its been a while and I haven't played in 7 months so my info may be out of whack) the points start towards thefirst box on another tree. So once you hit that ceiling, no matter what you do you won't get any more xp until you gotten some more training. Basically, get some more training and you should be good.
Now if the xp is higher then that then I don't know. Its been to long.
I think I just confused myself with that explanation.Sorry about the ramblings. I hope I didn't hurt the situation to much.

That shouldn't happen. Your xp cap is calculated with your highest skill tree although I had the same problem you did when I was grinding. I grinded against the cap for a bit because I miscalculated where it would be wasting precious materials in the process.
Just try training another box and see what happens.

Nevermind that, I just remembered that first boxes are worth 35k of crafting xp.
Tough one. I would just try to craft again and see if maybe there was lag or something.

After you got training, were you in the room of one of those guilds, like with the trainer in Theed? If so you were right next to a crafting station which can screw up some macros. I wasted a bit of xp this way grinding to master myself.

maybe it was lag, I got trained in coronet, then went outside the guild hall to grind again. I hope it was lag and that I'll get the xp when I log on tonight.
