Thread: How do you price your sliced weapons?

Hi all,

I've been a master for about 2 months now, and I am just really starting to get into selling sliced weapons. I'm wondering how people generally price their sliced weapons compared to their unsliced stuff.

Any advice / help would be appreciated. Thanks!

OK here is my pricing graph for sliced weapons. Its only applied to normal weapons not specials (Krayt, FFS, special schems etc).

Slice % Multiplier of Non Sliced Weapon

<15 times 1 (ie normal price)

<20 times 2

<30 times 3

30-34times 5

35Market Price

So for me a set of knucks priced at 4k (2.2, 147's) normally will cost upto 20k for a 34% slice

Well, I am preparing a master smuggler on my alt, and I'm thinking of using aformula like this:

>=19% Base price + 3000 just to cover the slice. (good bargains at 19%)

20-29% base price * slice %/10 + 3000 (Mid-range price markup)

<=30% base price * slice %/10+ 30% + 3000 (Added "uber-slice" bonus of 30%)

So you have a 6000 FWG5 pistol. You get a 25% slice, so you take 6000 * 2.5 and get 15000, add the 3kand it's 18,000.

Or you have a 10k scatter with a 35% damage slice (200+)... That's 48500.

Or a 400 DMG T-21 with a 35% damage slice (540)is 139500

With already-sliced weapons, the customer KNOWS what slice he's getting and pays a premium for it. Some of the prices may seem high, but think how many weapons you would have to purchase to get the ideal slice? Maybe you can get it done in 2-3, or maybe it will take a whole crate.

Anything with Krayt, or other loots with a good slice is really hard to price. How many 35% damage-sliced Krayt DRX6-b distruptors out there? Not many. Most stuff like this ends up on the trade forums, and the animals down there fight over it...

And there is the issue of speed slices versus damage slices. Anybody who has ever ground out a profession knows that the sooner you get your specials capped, the better. Thus, grinders and dabblers are always looking for low-speed weapons.

Howdy;

Just add $2K myself, no matter the outcome. I have a great master smuggler who does them for me at $1K a pop, with me supplying all the goodies. Actually works well. I still get my asking price, smuggler gets some easy quick credits and customers can SEE where the slice will go before buying.

I sell sliced weapons and basically i sell them at what the market can bear while maintaining a stock.

for me it's:

unsliced = X

< 30% sliced = X + 2K (cheap weapons) or + 10K (expensive weapons i.e. t21)

30% + sliced = x + 5K (cheap weapons) or + 25K (expensive weapons i.e. t21)

I pay my slicers a commission of all sales. So if you slice 750 guns for me.. you will get a % of the next 750 sales. This way at least they are all lining up when I'm ready to go with Krayt blowout sales. 5% of 65Mil = 3.25 mil for slicing 50 guns.

I don't have a fancy foumula. But I've changed my pricing strategy. I charge real cheap for basic weapons. But if they want a damage presliced weapon they pay through the nose. The only complaint I had was dealt with pretty simply when I said, "Feel free to buy the cheap one and get it sliced" They were cool with that. But I've really seen a big influx of money. There are plenty of people running around with tons of money and won't flinch at dropping 150k for a 34% damage slice T21. But I put a huge variation in prices for the slices. So a 20% slice would only go for like 25k for the T21.

I don't have a slicer so I don't have the luxury of splitting everything up so nicely with a formula. I get a bag back with all my sliced weapons. Then I make up numbers.

That is pretty much what I do, but there is a little method to my madness.
