Thread: Logix Sandbox Testers

Logix,

I've read other Professions requiting members for the Sandbox to test new changes.

Are we gonna get 5 people to test?

I'm a WS main and a Jedi. We need to test the Force crafting skills. Most of the Jedi that Arjun takes will take combat skills and no crafting. That part will still need to be tested.

Thanks for your time,

Carissa

I'm sure I'm going to get flamed to hell with this one, but to hell with it.

Personally I think Logix is THE WORST correspondent on these boards. I've never seen him actively post, he never comments on anything, never keepsus updatedand he's basically worthless as a WS correspondent.

In all other professions the correspondents are actively posting and helping out everyone in thier respective forums. They are getting and giving feedback and doing good for the community. If anyone has questions, they're right there for answers. For example, DocSavag in the Merchant Forum. He's an excellent correspondent. He was with us every step of the way with the Merchant nerf/revamp that is coming with Publish 10. Always anwering questions, giving us feedback and keeping us posted with everything going on. Same goes for several of the other correspondents.

Where is Logix?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think we might be in need of a new correspondent if things don't change.

This is the last major post I've made and it still holds true: State of the Profession0

Moreover, I've made multiple attempts to push the most recent hot issues (Weapon Repair, Berzerker barrels), however, those posts are in the Correspondent forum, not here. I've made notes to the community about the status of these issues; unfortunately, they still have yet to be answered. The whole 19 Questions thing is in limbo, I've heard nothing on it and I guess the Devs have decided to put it on hold. Lastly, Thunderheart is being transitioned into a new promotion and the Correspondents have no replacement for him yet. Plus, he's on vacation, so we're mostly talking to a wall right now until we get someone back for us.

In short: We're stuck as a low priority and we don't have any current feedback for our issues because there is no one to answer them. Simply put, I have nothing good to report to you guys and thus, nothing to post.

On the Sandbox server: Weaponsmiths will have five selections from our community. Weapon crafting is vital to proper testing to the Combat Balance and thus, Weaponsmiths are going to play an important role on this server. However, we were also told it was going to be awhile off until the Correspondents could begin the selection process and that we would be notified when the time has come to start.

I could begin the process early, however, I fear that I might end up with five applicants who ended up quitting the game before the server was opened. But as soon as I get a better timeline, I'll have a Sandbox application thread up and ready for the public.

Maybe you are fighting for us on the Correspondent Forums, but how do we know? I mean, my point is that you should be more active in this forum. Helping new people with thier questions, showing people that you actually exist. Your last major post might still hold true, but so what? Maybe you have nothing good to post, but that doesn't mean don't post at all. You are our voice, let us know that you are here. Let us know what's going on, good or bad.

Every other correspondent is active in day to day posting. They answer questions, no matter how silly they might be. They are there for those in thier forum. Why can't you be?

I had no idea we even had an active correspondent until today. Today is the first time that I've ever seen you post anything. Granted, I have not been a member of these boards for long, but I have been playing for close to 8 months. The only thing I used to check was this forum and my server forum. Until I started checking other professions forums, I had no idea that correspondents even existed.

< Maybe you have nothing good to post, but that doesn't mean don't post at all. >

Ah....

The "please just type gibberish for our amusement and assurement" approach........

The job of the Correspondant is? To communicate the Players issues to the Devs, and communicate wot the Devs want to the players.

Since they're saying nothing, and we have nothing to add, Logix is doing an *admirable* job.

< They answer questions, no matter how silly they might be. >

Really?

In the forums *I* read (Weaponsmith, Merchant, Carbineer, and Commando, primarily), the *players* answer the questions that are asked.

Why?

Because they're the most knowledgeable.

The Correspondant position is not there to hold the hand of newbies.

If you have a question, ask it. What does it matter who answers it?

And I'm sure opinions on DocSavag's abilities as correspondant are not unanimous. Though that is NOT a discussion for this forum, as it's irrelevant.

The Weaponsmith community has come a long way from its introduction in early July. I used to be able to crack open the forums every day and see many new posts without any replies. Nowadays, however, we've got a ton of helpful regulars -- Felton, Griz, Xieflow, etc -- to name a few. It's pretty hard to find many new players seeking assistance who haven't been given answers yet. Has nothing to do with me ignoring redundant questions, we just have more elders than we do newbies.

And, more importantly, we just don't have a whole lot of hot topics, being smiths. You head over to the Armorsmith forum and you'll see JaatoWaals is stuck with the same old State of the Profession post with nothing new to say. DocSavag, however, has some huge plans in store for himself and his community, what with major Merchant changes going on in Test. Hence, he's got more going on in his forums right now. However, I guarantee the second they decide to tinker with crafting experimentation, you'll see the activity from Jaato and I go up tenfold.

In the meantime, I acknowledge and assist what I can and I guarantee that you're always being heard, regardless of whether or not I have something new to discuss with you guys.

Logix,

I was just curious about the sanbox and whether we would get any testers. Next thing you know your head is on the chopping block!! Sorry about that.

Lay off of Logix. It's not his job to babysit newbies and answer questions that people could answer themselves by reading the FAQ or a few other posts that are stickied or on the front page. When we've needed him to fight for something, he's been there. Right now there's not much going on, so he's not posting much. Big deal. The Berserker thing has been beat to death. What do you want him to do, come on every week and say "sorry, still no word"? When there's word, he'll tell us. He always has before.

Chill. =)
