Thread: Suggestion: Add a quest on Kashyyyk for non-Wookiee weaponsmiths to learn how to make bowcasters.

OK, as a Wookiee Novice Rifleman, I've found it VERY hard to find a bowcaster that I can use. The only 2 I've yet to locate are pre-RoTW looted casters that have converted to Assault Bowcasters, which I cannot use. At present, you have to be both Wookiee and Weaponsmith to make a good recon caster... but it's hard to find a good weaponsmith these days on my server, least of all a Wook weaponsmith.
Now that we all can get to Kashyyyk... why not add a quest where a weaponsmith of any race can "apprentice" to a Wookiee NPC and learn the techniques for making Wookiee weapons. I really wanted to go down the Rryatt Trail using the traditional weapon of the Wookiees... but since I can't find anyone who can make a decent bowcaster that I'm qualified to use.... guess that's out of the question.
(Note to the devs: If you do make a quest like this, PLEASE make it a pure crafting quest! No having to kill this mob or that mob for some loot or other. Sometimes the insistence in this game to add some combat to EVERYTHING is well into the realm of the ridiculous.)

Possibly because you're a wookie weaponsmith?

I do like that idea. I think if someone trained with a Wookie WS for long enough, they'd learn how to make the bowcaster. It doesn't have to be an easy mission to do, but great idea! Keep em coming!

Well, I'm against it, mainly because I'm a Wookiee WS and I like being able to make something that the other WS's can't.
However, the other 2 bowcasters suck. I made the light bowcaster and the recon bowcaster, and they are next to useless after you get the novice rifleman box.... several other rifles are a lot better than them, like theDXR-6 Tenloss or a Light Laser Rifle.The assault bowcaster is basically a T21, however, and is quite nice

It will never happen
1) It makes sense
2) The Devs didn't think of it

This works for me. Give non-Wookiees the ability to make Bow Casters. The catch is that Wookiee WS' get +10 to experimentation in return for not being able to wear as many pieces of clothing. You want equality? Fine be me.

Fine, then give the other non Wook smiths something that you can't craft. Seems fair.

Then give me the +assembly mods, the ability to wear non-wook clothing, the time, the money, and the time wasted collecting junk for weapons that no one buys. Honestly, the bowcaster is about the only thing that makes a wook unique as apposed to the other classes. In every other way, we get bent over and owned for free. We've always had the short end of the stick, and I think it would be even more crap if we got the only thing that was truly OURS taken away.
(My WS and my Main are both Wooks)

You really don't want these, the 2 lower bowcasters are horrid!
The assult is the exact same as a t21 but with Bowcaster skin.
What's this +10 on experimentation stuff...I thought this was true back when I started my WS, but...have yet to see this.
I couldn't careless if anyone else can craft them, they are only usable by wookiee's and are just for looks. Not many would bother making them i don't think.

I am a wookie master weaponsmith on sunrunner. Shoot me an email and I will make you a recon bowcaster if you want one

Yes, Wookiees get to make something that other races can't - I think that's perfectly cool and should remain that way in game.
Although, to balance it out Wookiees shouldn't be able to make Scout Blasters because their fingers are too large to work on/in them.

/agree that Bowcasters should stay where they are.
Wookies already have a hard enough time because of the limitations on clothing.
I'm a Zabrak BTW.
