if i have an expermentaion attachment of 6+ and another for 3+ thast 9+ total and drink a drink that gives me +11 to experimntaion does that make me a 12 point?

I'm assuming you're reffering to Bespin Port, which gives you an experimentation success bonus, not extra experimentation points.

you need a +20 total for weapon experimentation. Tapes and loot clothing are the only items that grant this bonus. A weaponsmith toolset has a +3 so if you dont have one of those, contact a tailor and see if they have a schem for one.


+10 will give you an extra point, +20 will give you 2 points.


Yes you will need to be 12 point to make weapons that contend with what is out there. You can still make good weapons, but 2 extra points can end up giving you better DPS or enhancing secondary attributes like accuracy or action cost.

Buy a WS toolkit (bandoleer) which has +3 experimentation. It should be pretty cheap like 100-200k or so. Place your tapes in 2 different 4 socket pieces of clothing of your choosing, equip all 3 and you'll be +11

I have a question. Are the tapes called anything specific. I seen an artisan +5 for sale the other day. Would that count or does it have to be weapon assembly specifically?

What your looking for are tapes that say Weapon Experimentation, those are what's used to get the extra experimentation points.


Weapon Assembly tapes help with the initial combine (assembly) of the weapon, they don't help with the experimentation.

Weapon experimentation.

Think of it this way: Getting master gives you 100% of your experimentation skills and 10 points when experimenting. Getting extra weapon experimentation tapes improves your skill percentage, so getting 110% will give you 11 points and 120% will give you 12 points. Weapon assembly tapes do not give you any extra experimentation points.
