Thread: Increased creature spawn = Increased crafter death
Sancho, I couldn't agree with you more. I'm coming off a year and a half break from this game, to see if SOE could get some of its stuff in order. I figured after the CU and an expansion, they would have had the chance to address a lot of things that were wrong in this game when I left. Well I do see some improvements, but now looks like this CU is gimping my toon. I'm at a CL of 42, but this still forced me to have to move my shop from Dant to Tat because I kept getting my arse handed to me in the front of my own shop!! my factories were a mear 50 meters away and it was like a day in Iraq trying to dodge nasties to grab things out of them and stocking them required an escort!!. What I'm seeing is this CU is forcing you to take one road...either that of a crafter, or that of a combat toon. There has to be a happy medium though, if your going to roll out content such as the new planet of ToOW expansion. I've noticed that once some other very popular MMORPG's rolled out ( I wont mention names here
), they tried to mimic this game to that play style, but they should have gone all the way then. I like the way this system used to be from the standpoint of mastering one combat profession at least gave you the ability to survive in the PvE side of things. I don't mean being an uber god if combat, but I could hold my own against a vortex lizzard. And some of these wepon certs should be re-done. While I like the idea of being able to use a variety of weapons based on my CL, lets get real for a sec. As a Master Pistoleer, why is it that I CAN NOT weild my FWG5 pistol?? It has a CL rating ig 54 I believe and as a CL 42 I can't use it. I think if your a master in a certain combat profession, then you should automatically be proficcient in that family of weapons, otherwise why give me the title of master?? I think I'll post some of these ideas to the Devs as well. Maybe a fresh look of things from someone who has been gone for a while may help them with some stuff.

Grouping to get the temp CL of 80, will that allow me to weild weapons of that max CL as well? Someone told me no and I can still only use CL 42 weapons, grouping just allows me to take on the higher missions. Not sure if this is true or not as I have not had a chance to group for a high level run of anything.
Still stinks to have to group with an 80 group just to be able to go survey for stuff...I'm sure they would rather be fighting nasties then baby sitting little old me as I survey for esources ![]()

You can only use weapons that you are certified to use, regardless of your group CL level.
Also worth noting grouping with a CL80while it helps reduce the amount of damage you take doesn't remove the agro from lower level CL mobs that ebing a true CL80 does. And with the reduced Ham and lack of healing skills your still gonna get incapped very quickly against a group of highish CL mobs.

another issue that bugs me, KD recovery needs to be in ALL novice professions. i mean we all knew how to stand up before the CU. funny that some of us forgot that simple move after.

I have the same address on Intrepid, and I have seen a huge increase in the wildlife. This also includes an increase in aggro types (most lvl.20-22). I have always had big spawns of Imperial squads, but now there has been an assortment of forts/bases that spawn all along Theed Row and vicinty. These structures often block entire entrances or engulf small houses. I feel like I am running a bizarre zoo.
I have a Pre-CU/Pre-Cert Republican Blaster as my side arm and a guard Probot. I have a fighter alt and associates that are good with regular animal control, but the increase in 'rabid' critters is just too much. Before, there were plenty of low lvl, non-aggro critters that one would expect on a starter planet just outside a major NPC planet. I suspect that this creature problem is yet another Pub 24 'gift' foisted upon us.
Hopefully you still have a couple of good, pre-CU weapons you can use to assist you, but crafter defenses are still too low to survive well.
