Thread: Another Freak Assembly Some Insight Please?

I think most of us have had this happen, but the Uber components thread is a little confusing to some folks, and I wanted to try understand if what happened here is the same bug, or a different one.

Here's what happened. I'm making a new schematic for Advanced Projectile Pistol Barrels. Nothing unusual at all. First one doesn't get all great successes, so I make a second one. All of a sudden boom, all 10 experimentation boxes are open. Best Chilastra materials should make a 20/20 -1.06 Advanced Proj. Barrel. This one comes out 24/24 -1.19.

So what do I do with these? Did I inadvertanly stumble across the uber components bug, or what? DarkCipher, or anyone else with some insight here, what should I do with these? Is this info the Devs can use? Some direction would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I've had that happen twice to me, within a week, with advanced rifle barrels. The first time was the first one I made in a week, so I didn't realize it. The second time was a few hours later. It was about 40% better then the next 1-200 I made during the following 3 days.

I'll bet there experimenting system is open to a .001% chance of something better then an amazing build and such. I wouldn't worry about it being a bug.

That is EXACTLY the bug. Its not an insane success. Its totally unfair to all other smiths for you to use it. It will be very obvious though.

4 damage isn't exactly anything to lose sleep over, bug wise, Camo. And unlike the whole krayt-no-krayt issue, it's not what you'd call unfair to other smiths, either.

I would be hard pressed to call something that has an extremely small chance of happening, and that can't be repeated, a bug.

I agree with IronMonkey. As a matter of fact, I think it's a pretty cool *feature* because it gives weaponsmiths an incentive to keep striving for the perfect schematic.

I thought that there is a recipe you can follow to make this bug happen with a high chance of repeatability so if you know how to do it, you can make it happen pretty much whenever you want - that is a bug.

Well, since you can almost max out the Adv Proj barrel anyway. It doesnt matter too much. But with Regular Adv Barrels....Yes, you asked if this was the Uber weapon bug. It is. Plain and simple, no denying it.

the bug you're thinking of was something to do with krayt tissue stats being transfered onto another component without the tissue (to this day, I still don't know the ins and outs of it), I think the freak sucsesses are just that.

Ok, they asked if this was the same bug. Its a different item than the origanal Uber weapons poster reported. BUT YES IT IS THE SAME BUG. YES YES YES. Why must you argue? It's not the krayt exploit. Its the "Insane success exploit". Im sure they did it on accident. Do I need to say it again? Ok I will, Yes, this is the Uber weapons exploit. Mmmkay?

Okay, say the best FWG5's on the server are 210 max damage. Using a schematic like this will make them 214 max damage. Better than possible by anyone not using the exploit..er, bug.

Take an advanced barrel, best max on server is 15/15 damage, and -.6 speed. Ok, open up all those expirimentation bars, and what do you have? I've never actually seen the bug, but lets just guess and say 50/50 damage -1.5 speed. Sound fair to you?
