Hi,
I am trying to evaluate a possible nerf on Test Center. I had wanted to get some more data, but as Test Center has been down for 2 days now I will go ahead and post this now.
So, I am a master melee weaponsmith on Test Center. I don't make any guns and so I don't know anything about them at all.
Now I have noticed that some of my melee weapon expermentations have gotten a little bit worse. I've noticed a few things, but the most comprehensive thing that I have noticed is that I seem to get worse results on poorer quality materials.
Before the recent patch I noticed the following:
On poor quality materials I would start with a low %'age weapon and a lower cap for each experimentation category. Each experimentation point would give somewhat less than on a better quality weapon, but I would still tend to have a couple of points left over (if I was getting all great successes) to spend on range or HAMs.
Now I notice the following:
On poor quality weapons I star lower and have lower caps. On great successes I tend to always get exactly 1/10th of the way to the cap. I have yet to craft a single weapon (starting from qualitie 22% to 29%) where I could ever do anything but barely max out damage experimentation. It seems basically impossible that, with 10 exp points, I should be able to get top damage experimentation and have points left. I have started with 29% and a cap of 99% and 10 great successes later I am exactly at 99%. I have started with a cap of 22% and a cap of something like 84% and 10 great successes later I am at exactly or just under 84%.
Now my question is, which of these matches your experiences? Am I experiencing a nerf? WEre my prior results just weird? Is there the possibility that I am doing something different to cause this to happen?
Overall I seem to be slightly worse than I was before. I work harder to get results that a tad bit under where they seemed to be before. I have harvested better resources recently for some of my weapons and yet for some weapons I am struggling to make schematics that are at the same level as my old ones (or I am making only slightly better schematics when I would have expected much better results).
Anyhow, could I get some feedback on this? It's very likely that this is not a nerf and is just something I am doing differently or is due to a mistake in what I remember. Unfortunately I can't test out both the old code and the new code to see how they specifically differ and so I am forced to rely on an imperfect memory of how things were working for me before.
Thanks.

P.S.
I don't know if the 22%->84% is accurate, it's just an example. Starting at lower qualities in the past I know I have had points after maxxing damage to spend on range mods/HAMs and now that is not the case. That's what I'm after feedback.

should maybe shred some light on this issue.

Ahh, thanks. So I'm not crazy.
I'll go post over in that thread a bit then.

No what he means is that if you're using 400 quality resource and then have 4 gems (40% max) you'll need all 10 points to get to this max 40% result when now on live you'd have 5-6 pts left for other fields
