Thread: Sorry to ask this but what metal do i need to grind rifle barrels?

But do yourself a favor. When you get a new skill level, make at least a few of every new item, fully experimented, so you can get a feel for how it actually works. Also, start making lists of the specific resources that are required for each weapon. You'll want to stock these as soon as you can.
Many smiths get grind happy and never do this. Without the right resources and without an understanding of what weaponsmithing is really about, they then end up here 2 daysafter power grinding to master, and are enraged that they cannot make quality items, and thus can't sell anything.
Personally i recommend a slower route to master. WSing is the greatest cause of burnout i've ever seen because of the huge demands on masters. Taking your time (say a couple weeks instead of a couple days), and maybe selling a little on the side to get a feel for the economy, will greatly lengthen your enjoyment of the profession.

I dont think i want to grind all the way to master but i do want to get level 4 in the experiment tree so that i can at least find some buyers for my weapons.
Players just dont want to buy goods with too few experiment points in them...

I hung around at Expert Weaponsmith (Tech 4) for around 7 weeks. Scraped by by moving to Rori where there was no local Master. Eked out a miserable life of an apprentice, doing Survey Missionsuntil I had 3 boxes to go, then did a grind of the rest. Gave me 7 weeks of resource collecting.
