as the weaponsmith I am, I got into a argument with a friend of mine.He was trying to say a looted geo was better than a player built tangle and I disagreed. After hammering a few out I noticed that my tangle was much faster, had slighty higher damage, but its accuracy was pathetic.

any reason the geo has +50/+30 range mods while my tangle has like -30/-30 would it be such a crime to even use a scope on this thing? or even give control unit accuracy mods?

No, a percision scope would be a good idea, but no matter how you look at it a tangle to a sonic is no contest.

I was gifted to assemble some tangles with +143 Damage Exceptional Fed Mechs and the guns still didn't come out as good as my standard Geos...

VERY dissapointing indeed.

Can't use a scope for the tangle and if u use a control unit, the range mods are still terrible (not close to positive). I've stopped making tangles just about the time the Geo cave came into live

Mmpf. Only thing I find worthwhile shunting proj. feed enhancers into are Striker pistols. The only kinetic ranged weapon in the game makes them solid gold real estate.

Launchers might not be a bad market, but generally flamers tend to be the tool of choice. For a pistoleer going up against certain Nightsisters, only Strikers will do!

Oh I would definatly agree, but they were his mechs and I made what he wanted. Hell 200k per gun for an assembly is a good day of work for me when I did about 6 of them

Striker pistol is not the only ranged Kinetic weapon, think your forgetting the trusty old Tusken Rifle.

That's SUPPOSED to be kinetic according to continuity, but only the looted Tusken King Rifle is Kinetic, and that's not certed for anyone.

The Tusken is energy.

Yes, the Geo pistol is preferable. But the Tangle is available long before the Geo pistol in the skill tree, and while a Tangle might run you 10K credits, a Geo will easily run into the hundreds of thousands. The Tangle has it's place, and I do sell a few from time to time. As a Smuggler/Master Weaponsmith, I keep a sliced Tangle in my inventory just in case since I don't have enough free skill points to qualify for the Geo.

The tusken rifle WAS kinetic.

The devs changed it, and pretend to this very day that they did not.

Why the lies?

That's like saying Lasers suck and T21s are great. It's not as simple as you make it out to be. They both have their place. But I guess if you want to send your Tangle business to me, I'll sell them to people.

Ugh - I don't know about you, but I refuse to be involved in builds I don't believe in. I'd offer a geo blaster or two (or three) in exchange for those feeders and put them to better use.

Agreed. Everything has a place, however most people tend to think in two dimensional ways, such as "Tangles = suck, Geos = hawtness".

I'd just say that in terms of the component, it's my opinion not as good a use as putting into a Striker (though personally I'd throwone into a personal bowcaster so I can't speak too much !)as you could easily sell one of the feeders and use the money to purchase a geo - that's an upgrade to the Tangle. There is no 'upgrade' model to the Striker.

Though, certs are important to note, certainly, but that's a smaller niche. Regardless I pretty much stock every weapon there is, except the vibro axe.

Slightly tangential, does anyone elsestock SR combat pistols? I know they're the only non-pistoleer with any AP rating but they move even slower than SG82s.
