Thread: real names of star wars weapons
- The D-18 is also known as the "Mos Eisley Special" - interesting given that all newbies spawn in M.E. now!!!
- About the DH-17: "one of BlasTech's Imperial weapons, the DH-17 resembled an E-11 blaster, except that its nozzle was cone-shaped. Although the DH-17 was semi-automatic, it could be modified for automatic fire. This modification was not recommended, however, because the weapon built up excessive amounts of heat during heavy use" I note that the original sources don't seem to differentiate between carbines & pistols... though perhaps the 'automatic' function is supposed to be what makes a 'carbine'. And now the DH-17 Carbine is one of the fastest weapons in the game!
- DL-44: "a heavy blaster pistol built by Blas-Tech, the DL-44 was one of the most popular weapons BlasTech ever produced. While its design gave it a short range, the DL-44 was extremely powerful for a hand-held weapon... The weapon... gained its populariy due to the fact that Han Solo used a modified version of this type of blaster". Aaah, that's where I've seen one before.
- The E-11 Carbine: Actually known as the "E-11 Trooper Rifle" - "a BlasTech military laser weapon used by stormtroopers, it has a quarter-centimeter aperture. It can be fired continuously, but only at low-power settings. They were so heavily produced that, between stolen shipments and weapons scavenged from battlefields, the Alliance had almost as many of these rifles as the Empire. The weapon was cloned by SoroSuub as the Stormtrooper One rifle"
- The Power5 was designed for easy concealment... manufactured by Merr-Sonn as a "compact, heavy blaster pistol"
- The T21: "BlasTech's light repeating blaster, the T-21 was a rifle-sized weapon which had a long, thick barrel. They were designed for military use, and could be adapted to use a larger power supply. This modification was not recommended, though, as the weapon tended to overheat under constant, heavy use." Good thing I've never come across a T21 that was ever constantly over-used

These are the only weapons in-game listed at TheForce.net... I guess the rest were invented for the game.
The original poster wanted different names for his weapons -- well, there are masses available! Also, there are standard variants on some of the above weapons, especially the E-11.
It seems that in Star Wars lore, the E-11 was heavily used by both sides of the conflict. Maybe we need to flood the market with them to make the game more realistic!

Others include (from the Completely Unofficial Star Wars Encyclopedia):
DLT-20AThis was the model number of the laser rifle produced for the Empire by BlasTech. It was one of the few blaster weapons produced with a magnatomic adhesion grip, which kept the weapon firmly in the hand of the stormtrooper firing it. It was known as a Longblaster, along with the BlastTech A280 rifle.
DX-2 This was the designation of a disruptor pistol produced by the Tenloss Syndicate during the New Order. Like other disruptor weapons, the DX-2 fired an energy blast that caused the target's molecules to become excited and lose cohesion, leading to the utter annihiliation of the target. This disintegrative affect made them illegal in most parts of the galaxy, but Tenloss maanged to continue to produce them for many decades.
DXR-6This was the designation of a disruptor rifle produced by the Tenloss Syndicate during the New Order. It was based on the plans of the DX-2 disruptor pistol, but with more power and greater range. Like other disruptor weapons, the DXR-6 fired an energy blast that caused the target's molecules to become excited and lose cohesion, leading to the utter annihiliation of the target. This disintegrative affect made them illegal in most parts of the galaxy, although Tenloss managed to produce them for many decades.
EE-3A Blas-Tech blaster rifle model. Boba Fett used a sawed-off, modified version of this type of weapon.
FWG5 This was a model of flechette pistol produced by Malaxan Firepower Incorporated. It was smaller and easier to handle that the FC-1 from Golan Arms, and employed flechette-filled pellets instead of heavy canisters.
SG-82This was the model number of Pacnorval Defense Systems' sonic rifle. Like the SD-77 sonic pistol, the SG-82 fired a wide pattern of high-intensity sound waves which could shatter solid objects or stun a living being into submission.
Stokhli Spray SticksThis weapon was developed by the Stokhli nomads as a way to capture prey. They were short tubes that shot a spraynet mist to ensnare the prey while also shooting shockstun juice at the prey, they are used primarily by big-game hunters. The Noghri Commandos working for the Empire have also adopted them for capturing their targets. Each of the sticks has a thumb-switch for activation, as well as controls to modify the spray pressure and profile.
StrikerThis was the brand name of Oriolanis Defense Systems' projectile pistol. A primitive though prototypical weapon, the Striker fired a solid bullet at its target, much like a slugthrower. It was known for its durability and availability.
Tangle Gun 7This is a form of anti-riot weapon produced by Merr-Sonn during the early years of Palpatine's rule as Emperor. These weapons were considered more humane than blasters, although they often proved deadly to the target. The tangle gun fires a large, semi-flexible webbing which is created from naorstrachem mixed with a shrinking agent. The web begins to contract when it comes in contact with a warm surface, such as a living body. The webbing wraps around the target and tightens, trapping the target almost instantly. The problem with most tangle guns - and the Tangle Gun 7 was no exception - os that the webbing often contracted too much, despite efforts to modify the mixture. The target was often suffocated by the intense contraction of the webbing.
Those are the weapon names that are from other SW sources (mostly WEG material). The same is true for other weapons like the C22 grenade, CryoBan, Ryyk Blades, etc.
