Purchase ALOT of steel practice Projectile Pistol Barrels until you can train Firearms 1 then make Projectile rifle barrels until you master tada...

Somewhere on this board is a crafting macro where all you essentially have to do is insert the resources and the macro does the rest for you loading the schematic and completing the practice...one tip in order for the /createPrototype practice noitem line to work, you must have NOT been practice mode last time you actually made something by hand.

I will say this though...there is something to actually trying to go through the process...you can sell weapons rather well if you are at Techniques 4 and can make Scouts and such...And as you spend your time making weapons by hand you get UXP from the people you sell weapons to and you build up a good stockpile of resources in the meantime...I didnt master until 3 weeks ago, yet Ive been going towards weaponsmith since the day the game came out...Ive had alot of fun with the game because of that...

By powergrinding to master you may lose something of the fun of being a weaponsmith, and you certainly might not know all the depth that this profession has to offer. I know how to craft each and every one of my weapons with the best resources and experimentation because I had so much practice at it through the slow grind. And people bought my weapons when I wasnt a master because I put that much into it... Hopefully you want to become a weaponsmith for the fun of crafting these items, and then seeing them in use by marksmen on every planet in the galaxy, it can be very fun

Thanks for the great advice, Maxx

I'm sorry to admit this, but yes, I will be going in the power grinding direction. I am seeking to master this profession purely due to the fact that my 3rd holocron told me to master this. My first holocron told me to be TKM. So I relunctantly dropped BH, and found that I loved TKM. Then I became Master Musician because of my 2nd holocron, and despite the fact that I power macroed my way to victory, I had a great time doing so, and made a lot of nice friends. I am finding it very difficult to surrender musician, so I will not for some time, will enjoy playing the nalargon for a while

Thanks so much for the advice, and if anyone on Starsider wants to sell me cheap grinding metal, /t or email TheDervish . Thanks

quick != cheap, the cheapest way is to harvest all your own steel, this will also give you a feel for ahrvesting in general which you are going to have to do to maintain the WS habit.

The quickest way is to purchase your steel (450k of it @ at least 3cpu = 1.35 million credits) if you are lucky you will find someone to seel you your grinding steel for less (if/when you do hang on to this person they are like gold).

quickest = grind til your wrist locks and your fingers fall off

cheapest = have someone else pay for all that steel!

grind projectile rifle barrels, that's easiest I think. BUt ssoooooo boring!

You could take the middle way, too.

Purchase and grind steel to get to tech IV. Then start making and selling your wares to purchase MORE steel to grind when you're not selling. That'll be fast AND cheap (well, cheaper, anyway).

I mastered in a week and a half...using a macro program that records mouse clicks...thats all I will say. Do some searching around on the net and find a good program and figure it out from there...you can get to a point where you can grind 24/7 only to stop to train and when the server goes down...
