Thread: The mandatory I made Master! post
I made Master!
I probably had one of the more fitful progresions out there. I started crafting as soon as I got the game in week 2, but I was also doing everything else, exploring the various newbie professions.
Eventually I made it to Novice WS, realized it was a horrible nightmare like everyone else, and ground my way up to tech3. From there, I sorta half-ground and half-sold stuff on the bazaar until I got to melee4/tech4. At that point I could do a rip-roaring business on the bazaar. However, I couldn't set up a shop because I had neither skill points or time, since I was pursuing Master Pistoleer, and had a lot of Medic holding me down.
I noticed how incredibly little xpI was getting despite hand-making all the weapons I sold in a modestly brisk business. I had gotten sick of grinding so I just sort of stopped doing any smithing for a few months, kept the skill boxes, but focused on murdering things.
So I got an AT-ST, lost it, got another one, and murder lots of big things on different planets with friends.
Then the Holocron hoopla started. When I began to realize that the key was mastering randomly selected professions, I decided I should "clean up" my half finished profession. And, well, I kind of wanted to play with those extra 3 experimentation points.
So, after a week with a flurry of steel mining and grinding, I finally reached master about an hour before the server shut down.
My big problem now, like so many other newly-minted masters, is resources. I'm really up-to-date on melee stuff, but not on firearms, which are tons more complicated. So I can't make lots of thing, most other things aren't very good, and surveying all the different stuff drives me bonkers.
I've decided that firearms pretty much suck. ![]()
Well, as for a quick update, I may have one of the shortest tenures at Master Weaponsmith ever. The cause is, of course, a Holocron, my first Holocron, which directs me to Master Squad Leader (insert collective groan here). I can't forsee this and keeping weaponsmith.
On the upside, at least I won't have to deal with plumbum iron, which I have grown to loathe.
