Thread: 0.0 Speed Krayt FWG5 (unsliced)
I had the opportunity to work with some rather nice Krayt tissue this evening for a private order. The three tissues were very good damage (in the 50's) but the speed was exceptional (-1.5). The resulting FWGs included the following:

The speed of the other two FWGs were 0.1 with similar damage. All weapons were unsliced at the time they left my hands, but I assume the owner will have them sliced.
Of course, I understand the current weapon speed limitations, and of course that speed gain on a rifle would have perhaps been more effective - it was a private order for a client supplying his own tissue. Nevertheless, it's interesting to see how far this particular experimentation could be pushed.
It's certainly a relief that this outcome was successful, following that crit fail on a T21 using 83's on Friday...
I wonder what would have happened if you used that on a D18. Would it stop at 0.0 and ignore the additional bonus? Would it go negative? Would it wrap around to some enormous positive number? Would it crash the server every time you fired?
The game does some really weird stuff when values are lower than they're supposed to be - at the end of beta there was some way to make weapons with negative HAM that would heal you when you fired them.
That is **edit** impressive. I haven't had anybody bring me such speed reduction tissues, if they did I would assume they would be used for other weapons than FWG5's. Even with a +30 -0.3 second tissue I can get my FWG5's to 1.4 speed. It's always been rumored or mythed that pistol speed is capped at 1.5 seconds, so a damage slice on a 1.4 speed pistol is the desired slice for my customers. My other account character uses pistols and I have amassed quite a collection of FWG5's. A few of them got sliced down to 0.8 speed but I always wondered if they could get lower. You took this curiosity to the endgame!
Please let us know how your customers slices go and have him do some DOT tests with the 0.0 vs like a 0.9 and a 1.5. I haven't noticed a difference myself vs. 0.8 and 1.4 but 0.0... thats new territory perhaps.
LMAO

I think if one of those weapons got speed sliced, it might go back in time and shoot your own grandfather. be careful.
Here's how speed mods work. And speed altogether
It's weapon speed * special attack delay - (weapon speed * special attack delay * Speedmod/100.
If i had a 2.0 FWG and used stopping shot, 4.0 delay, with pistol speed +74 (master pistoleer value of speed)
It would be 2.0 * 4.0 - (2 * 4 * 74/100)
So the 0.0 FWG5 would shoot ANY special at 1.0 speed. It all caps at 1.0 Though a 0.1 pistol would cap there as well, there arnt any pistol specials with enough of a delay mod to make it over 1. And..0*anything is 0.
nice gun
i have a 0.1 scatter and a 0.0 scatters both unsliced
here is pick for the first one 0.1

ill upload the pic for the 0.0 unsliced in a after restart
Well, it certainly was a pleasure to work with those tissues. Even more so considering that, except if some sort of legendary tissue exists out there, it's going to be rather difficult to match those speeds after the patch... ![]()
Thanks for the comments on specials. I wonder if any of the algorithms hadn't counted on a weapon speed less than 0.1 - that would possibly make for some interesting behavior...
