for me personally i do not bother with damage at all. It does not raise much at all once you experiment in it.

I normally experiment in SAC all the way then the rest of the points i put in speed. i have noticed on experimenting that this is the best way to go. You get a higher damage weapon with low SAC compiared to if you tried to lower the SAC on the weapon sacrifising points that would have gone into damage.

Yep 8 into efficiency, which is normally enough to get me -8 and the rest into speed.

same here - components 8 ineff (or until i hit -8) rest in speed, and on the weapon normally about 2 speed, 2 eff & 8 damage. then a 8% damage slice, 2% speed and 2% critical. give a damage & SAC capped weapon with speed high enough not to have to worry (krayttissuehelp too mind)

try this if you like - it what i was working just as teh EXP bug kicked in so not finished but for laser rifles its helpfull to get some idea on how everything works

After experimenting for sac you can:

Get about 8 points added to min/max dmg

Get about .1 faster on the the weapon - remember even though it says -1.6 seconds that really means -.16 seconds

Intiially when everyone was going ga-ga over dps, people were experimenting subcomponents SAC/Speed

But now people want high min/max dmgand SAC. So would it be better to experiment SAC+DMG now? Factoring in speed capping weapon speed, slicing it might be more advantageous to concentrate on SAC/damage only

Here's my thought:

Generic weapon (no DMG or speed experimented components) Damage: 100-200 2.0 speed = 75dps

SAC/DMG Components: Damage 108-208 2.0 speed = 79dps

W/ 2% Damage and speed slices: 110-212 1.96 speed 82dps

SAC/Speed Components: Damage 100-200 1.9 speed 79dps

W/ 2% Damage and speed slices: 102-204 1.86 speed 82dps

Assuming same SAC cost wouldn't you want the higher DMG prototype?

My point may be better proven or refuted with real world examples

Points to ponder:

* Component experimentationon DMG + weapon experimentation on damage increases yields from damage slicing

*No speed experimentation (components orprototype experimentation)ends upwith a higher yield on speed slices
