Just wondering. I purchased a belt the other day, looked at my stats and it says Weapon Assembly = 110/127. Am I able to get to 135?

Too bad they basically nerfed assembly. I havent gotten a crit failure on assembly since the patch that removed component loss.

Most would say that's a good thing.

Most non-rodians may say that. On the other hand, myself I am definitely unhappy to see my racial bonus become useless.

That's nonsense. Any smith that uses Pyollian cake is never going to get a crit failure on assembly anway, at least I've never heard of it happening. The real benefit of enhanced assembly modifiers be they from cake, tapes, racial bonus or fs assembly is a greater frequency of amazing success assemblies (whichwhen coupled with an amazing experimentation or two can effectively result in another point to spendelsewhere)and greater chance of a crit success assembly.

They are still there, just that you don't lose the components

Sure there is, it's called a crit success on assembly. It's what enables me to make factory runs of 2.0 50-165 vk's rather than the standard 2.2 38-147 (crit success was on the AVBU) so I'd say potentially it's very much worth it. Look, we don't know the exactaffect +25 in tapes, cake, fs assembly, research center, 45 crafting station vs. 25 CS provide to our crafting efforts. I just know that I want everything I can get on my side to give me the best results, and if I ever get a crit success on stocks or powerhandlers or avbu's or sword coresall the better. I'm not saying crit successes aren't rare, but if you catch one at the right spot well then you've kind of discovered the Holy Grail of weapons crafting haven't you?

At this point in the game while having 124 assembly and crafting in a research center there is absolutely no reason for me to use pyollian or to get the fs assmebly branch. Difference on almost everything crafted by weaponsmiths between an amazing success and a great success during assembly is basically nil right now. You might get what 20 extra points condition with an amazing assembly.

This critical failure discussion is a mute (moot) point. There was a patch a few weeks ago that removed Critical Failures from crafting. There is no longer such a thing as a Critical Failure during crafting sessions, no matter what your assembly rating is at.
