3 will get ya 1 gun with no crits, but 5 will get ya 2 and 7 will get ya three (as long as they are identical). Best bet would be to bring 5 or 7, that way if crits happen you are covered and if you get lucky and get no crits you will have several guns and a better chance at a decent slice.
