Thread: Appearance of Weapons
Hi,
I am fairly new to the weaponsmith profession and am wondering why, when I craft say for instance a rifle with a scope or a stock, it does not show to others apart from me when I equip the weapon. I made a nice DLT20 with a different muzzle and a scope, but anyone I ask, they cannot see those on me when equiped, while I see the attachments perfectly on my character. I also then noticed that I never see anyone with a somewhat different looking weapon(eg. one with a scope or whatever) in their hands. Is this intended or is this known to be a bug? I know this is mostly regarded as 'fluff', but still is this something that can be expected to be fixed some time down the road? For me a DL44 really only looks nice with a scope and the right muzzle. I see weapons like that on tables or hanging on walls, but never on players.

Weapon customizations only show up to the player wielding it, supposedly to reduce the amount of info being sent when a new player shows up on your screen. I don't think they've ever commented on it and I doubt if it's ever going to be changed.
The customizations will show up in inventory, on items dropped in buildings, and I think in the details screen of a vendor/bazaar. They also show up if you have a vendor equip them, but this seems buggy/broken. I gavea vendor an elite carbine with stock and scope and it displayed properly, but the stock and scope disappeared after the next morning maintenance.
