I have a bit of a dilema.

Ok, I have been a MWS for a loooooong time now.. but I have never made any weapons worthy of using. When I was grinding out MWS I really really wanted to be a MWS.. I thought it would be alot of fun.

Then once i completed it I realized how hard it is to aquire good resources, Now my my main question is, where do all you guys get your stuff? I mean the really good stuff you use for crafting the 15k pistols, and 30k LLCs.

Im really considering dropping MWS which wont be make me feel to good since i wanted it so bad and spent so much to grind it.
!
Also any and all tips would be greatly appreciated!

I personally harvest all my own stuff, I have 10 lots free so I have 10 of each type of harvester I could ever possibly use. I use www.SwgCraft.com to check on the resources to see what to harvest and have recently started using Jenner/Fooman's tool which can be found in the Weaponsmith forums on swgcraft.com. I have been a weaponsmith since November, and um lastly, my LLCs are 15k(stocked) and most of my pistols are under 10k. Its not always about what others are selling for, its about what you can sell stuff for, although now that I am established I could sell for more since my weapons are top of the line but whats the point if I am making some profit as is.

Jenners/Foomans Tool takes a little time to get used to but its worth while, once you have inputed your resources and you select the schematic you want make it will tell you which of your resources best suits the schematic. Now get your butt to SWGcraft.com and download the tool and take the time to learn how to use it!

You have choosen one of the toughest profession to Master and its a long slog even after mastering, when I started down the path one of my guildies laughed in my face and said I was mad and I'll never do it. In true thats almost true, I'll never get the old spawned resources BUT in time equal or better resources will spawn, I'm now 95% there just need4 or5 more good spawns and I'll be there. Saying that I'm always learning new stuff as a WS and always watching the Trade Forum for good deals.

Fooman's tool is great. It used to be a pain figuring out which spawn was better than what I already had in stock... and which resource was best for which build. After getting everything into the excel sheet, and with a little playing around... I don't know how I lived without it

Considering I have a medium house full and a vendor in that house with packs of resources... I would have gone made in a few weeks trying to keep track by hand

Start by getting the resources for your components, try to get the advanced stuff as they are usually better in the long run. If you can't find a good spawn and have the cash go to resource vendors and buy it.

For ranged smithing it would also be a good idea to stock up on good copper with atleast cd and oq both in the 900's, and steel with cd over 550 and oq over 900
