Thanks guys.. I'm still debating on whether to post his name in the Naritus forums. I have a post in ther titled "Fraud" if you would like to read the comments from people.
I swear, they let anybody be a smuggler these days ![]()
I has a similar problem. I get a tell asking for containers to be opened. I reply saying the I'm willing but I'll charge and that they should take the containers to a novice since that is the only way they can get slicing XP. They replied that they did and that the novice smuggler ruined 2 out of 3 containers. So, being flush with cash from the a big sale of crates of.... spare speeder parts, I ask for the the guys name with the intent of buying the novice some clamps so they can get the experience.
I send this guy a tell....
ME: you know at novice you can still use clamps.
NOVICE SMUGGLER(NS): duh!
ME: just talked to somebody who said you ruined 2 out of 3 of their containers. if you know that you can use clamps, why didn't you?
NS: I was out and I'm getting a friend to make some more.
It ended with me thinking that the novice smuggler in question was a poor reflection on the profession and me not buying them any clamps at all. I sliced the remaining containers for free. Turns out that the novice smuggler never mentioned that they were out of clamps until handing the ruined containers back.

I five starred ya and I too think that what he was doing was wrong but in his defence everyone getting slices from him could have, just as easily as you did, looked at his bio.Message Edited by PillowTech on 09-15-2004 03:23 PM
You are right, but it burns me when players try to mislead other players. When he spams Master slicing 3K, I believe he is intentionaly attepting to mislead the other players. And that makes me mad.

Very sound thinking

I get this all the time when dealing with new smugs. I have 3 goals in dealing with them. 1) Get them to always use clamps. When a noob ruins containers - it reflets poorly on the profession 2) Have all smugglers treat the customers fairly. That means educating the customer as much as required. 3) To put a stop to ignorance concerning our prof. This means getting smugs to stop spaming dishonesty (like high quality tools gets better slices).
I routinely give new smuggler tools, locked containers and as much information that I can provide. But in recent weeks my patience has been tested. I've seen my generosity taken for granted, or maybe it's stupidity on my part. Yesterday I offered to sell a novice smugg all of the tools he needed to get slicing 4 at cost. He scoffed at the offer saying he could do better. Another recent development is that I've had a few new smugs wanting me to make them clamp schems. Sorry, but even asking that pisses me off. Anyway, I guess I will stop the venting now.
