Thread: Equation for determining Mod Weapon Speed

Mod Speed = X - (LN(0.09512 * Y )/6.1181) * X

Where X = Base Weapon Speed and
Y = Character speed from skills + attachments while the weapon is equipped

Still trying to refine it so it can be defined in more common sensical terms, but for the more mathematically inclined, give it a shot. Should get within .02 of the mod speed. But it's a little biased to empirical data from high level players, so may be less accurate on the lower end.

More testing has revealed that the formula performs poorly for very low level players. Anybody who can post some real examples of their base weapon speed, mod weapon speed, and current speed skill level (as shown on character sheet with Ctrl+C), it would help nail things down further.

I thought it was simply +1 speedskill = 0.01 faster weapon (give or take 0.01 points due to invisible fractions). I'd only checked on a couple of weapons, but now that I check several different weapons it's obvious that it's not quite that simple

Ok, here's some data from yours truly:

My skill modifiers: Rifle Speed: +65, General Ranged Speed: +20

Speed in brackets is the reported speed on the character sheet with the weapon equipped:
Base speed 2.36, my speed 1.54 (rifle, +85 speed)
Base speed 2.37, my speed 1.55 (rifle, +85 speed)
Base speed 2.38, my speed 1.56 (rifle, +85 speed)
Base speed 2.40, my speed 1.57 (rifle, +85 speed)
Base speed 2.43, my speed 1.59 (rifle, +85 speed)
Base speed 2.49, my speed 1.63 (rifle, +85 speed)
Base speed 2.61, my speed 1.71 (rifle, +85 speed)

Base speed 1.85, my speed 1.62 (pistol, +20 speed)
Base speed 1.86, my speed 1.63 (pistol, +20 speed)
Base speed 1.89, my speed 1.66 (pistol, +20 speed)
Base speed 1.90, my speed 1.66 (pistol, +20 speed)
Base speed 1.91, my speed 1.67 (pistol, +20 speed)
Base speed 1.92, my speed 1.68 (pistol, +20 speed)

Base speed 2.12, my speed 1.85 (carbine, +20 speed)
Base speed 2.13, my speed 1.86 (carbine, +20 speed)
Base speed 2.15, my speed 1.88 (carbine, +20 speed)

Didn't actually get to equip these, but I'm assuming it's my General Ranged Speed modifier that applies:
Base speed 2.62, my speed 2.29 (special heavy weapon, +20 speed)
Base speed 2.65, my speed 2.32 (heavy weapon, +20 speed)
Base speed 2.69, my speed 2.36 (heavy weapon, +20 speed)
