I just found this post on my forum board. Havent tested it myself, but thourght id share. Any thoughts?

yeah it was for this very reason i continued to experiment on my personal elite carbs damage stat even when i had hit the MAX damage and WOund caps.. the improvement to min damage was sstill very much worth it

Always interesting to check the WS forum....
Started thinking that maybe damage slices are working the same way as power up, since many times I sliced for 10% damage ro similar but the max damage increased butnot 10% ....

Well, this answers the question about what min damage is used for.

That's good info, I noticed something was strange about how much damage powerups were adding, but hadn't dived into the fuzzy math yet.
But jeez... is that working as intended? It seems fraudulent, since the actual damage you do correlates well with Max damage, not Min.
Let me illustrate with something overheard in Jabba's palace...
Ephant Mon: I'm tired of working for 1000 credits an hour! Minimum wage is 500 creds, you know, and I'm worth more than double a Gamorrean guard.You tell fatass I want a raise!
G-5PO: Ohmy! You would do well to take a more worshipful tone when speaking of the Splendiforous Jabba!
Ephant Mon: Shut up and talk to him, will ya?
G-5PO: I am aware that your service to his Majesty has been acceptable.I will implore the all-powerfulJabba on your behalf.
(next day)
Ephant Mon: Well?
G-5PO: Lord Jabba, whose benevolenceis as vastas theTatooine desert,has seen fit to awardyou a 25% raise!
Ephant Mon: Ok, I guess that will do.Thanks for looking into that.
(a week later)
Ephant Mon: Hey, something's wrong.You said lardo was giving me a 25% raise, but this paycheck is for 1125 credits an hour.. that's only a 12.5% raise...What gives?
G-5PO:Lord Jabba, in his unfathomable wisdom, gave you a raise equal to 25% of the minimum wage.
Ephant Mon: But I wasn't making minimum wage, I was making twice that! I should be getting1250 creds an hour,25% more!Listen, you bucketof broken sandstats, you'd better talk some sense into his sliminess before I...
