Thread: Mod Republic Blaster question

Just a quick question for all you master smiths. I am a pistoleer /WS and obviously have been looking into the DE10 but after checking out the prices of completed items and parts i must admit I am a little disapointed on the overall quality / damage of the ones I have seen for the price charged.
As it is energy based and so isthe the mod rep blaster is it worth getting some good krayt tissues tissues and making a kicking rep blaster (bearing in mind with some 30 base tissues I am hitting about 245 max damage unsliced with some high velocity pistol barrels I aquired) or spending loads of cash / time to aquire the DE10 components?
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated as I am in a bit of a quandry atm over it.
P.S I am only a guild smith so do not have vendors/ shops etc so I dont have millions to spend on a 500 max damage DE10 nor would I want to as 8 or so million buys a lot of other fun stuff!

People are buying the DE-10s for the weapon's minimum damage I'd imagine, 145 unsliced vs 60 on the repub.
If you are doing PVE, or PVP vs. Jedi or Melee which is just about everyone at this point, min damage may not be as important.
I think the DE-10s are overpriced, but its entirely based on the price/rarety of the loot not on the weapon's relative merits.
