last patch apparently screwed up loot -several people have reported sets of twelve identical tissues, and the stuff for RIS armor now drops in large amounts (up to 9, maybe more) when it was singles only before.
i've never heard of anyone getting non-identical items with the same serial before. i wouldn't be surprised if the CSRs confiscate that.

Are you referring to multiple drops from the same critter?
and which digits are you referring to "ALL cases the rest of the digits match as well."? serial #s or damage/speed?

lol
There's no reason at all to doubt the legitimacy of those tissues. I've had 2 sets before with identical serials (both were crappy, like 37 and 39 dmg). Stats are generated randomly, as are serial numbers. And since there is a limited pool of serial numbers to choose from it's quite possible to have the same one generated twice on different sets with different stats.
The funny thing is that he actually noticed the serials. I figure this sort of thing isn't as rare as it's made out to be (I've never seen tissues with the same first 3 digits match if the rest didn't match), but it usually goes unnoticed.

Assuming only lower case letters and numbers 0-9 for the 8 slots of a serial #, there are 36^8 possibilities which is 2,821,109,907,456 = 2821 trillion so I would think it was a bug more likely than such a 'bit of luck' occurring right at the same time 2 serials were generated back to back on the same critter ![]()
(sorry, took statistics and probability course recently and had to post about this, hehe)
It appears the legality of these tissues havebeen cleared by a csr, there is a link now on that thread.

that's making an assumption that there's no restrictions or patterns that show up in the serials. I've seen a few sets with the same first 3 digits matching, and in ALL cases the rest of the digits match as well. Would seem to imply that there's more like 46 thousand possibilities and not the trillions you're talking about.
