Where can I find out how many itemsfit in each crate for weapons and subcomponents? Does it vary by item or is there a standard number?

It's typically 25 items per crate, for weaponry stuff.

The Commando launchers (acid, part beam, rocket, etc) come 7 per crate. Think everything else is 25 per.

Powerups are 10, expendable heavy weapons are 7, some tailor (and maybe armorsmith) things are 50, shellfish survey tool or vehicle paint kit or something is 20, and everything else is 25.
