Thread: Help a New WS

I've been an master WS for a few months now. I haven't produced anything huge or monumental due to the gathering of resources for advanced parts. I put a few small things together here and there for my guild members but not much other than that. The other day I finally got the resources to start running all the advanced components. I was a little dissapointed in the results that I got from my first advanced component T21. The first one that I ever made with normal components had max damage around 270. My guild leader has a T21 with max damage of 511 (sliced). I was hoping with the advanced components I would be able to compete with these stats. My max stats for a T21 with advanced components was 358(unsliced). Even with a slice, I can't compete. I have chart upon chart with resource stats, what to look for, what to use, etc etc. My point is... What am I doing wrong? What can I do to get my weapons on a competitive level with other WS? Is there something I'm missing? Is there that much difference from a 10pt to a 12pt?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Aryth

The only thing that'll hold you back from making the same or very similar stats as your fellow WS's is resources. Simply having the advanced components is not enough. The people who have been around for the longest likely have things like 950+ OQ Irolunn and Ostrine, 990+ polymer...etc. There's little you can do about this other than wait for something better than what you have to spawn, or to shell out loads of money buying the best of the best of old resources.

Your number 1 job at this point should probably be to check for new, better resources every day (or close to it) whenever possible. SWGCraft.com can also be a big help in finding out what's currently available server-wide.

For what it's worth, 358 isn't that bad for a T21, if you're not using a stock. Also, the T21 is probably the hardest weapon to make competitively, asit requires the most named resources, many of which are hard-capped, and have an obnoxiously low spawn rate. Perhaps you'd want to try out some of the less demanding weapons for now, which should come much closer to that competitive level that you're looking for. If you stick with it long enough, you'll be able to make the same quality everyone else does...all it takes is time.

10 and 12 pt smiths should never show a discernable difference in damage / speed, as any 10pt smith can max out damage in everything (with the possible exception of advanced weapon stocks).

Good luck.

I agree with sabacc. The subcomponents are as important as the resources used to build the T21. Your 358 is quite good for an unstocked T21, mine are running around 362. If you can get to 40/40 or better advanced stocks, you should be able to get real close to that magic 400 max damage for the T21.
