I decided i'm going to try it out. I've master 15 professions so far, figure a few more until the patch comes out. Then i can get a head start on the quests. I had to drop master smuggler but i'm keeping my master weaponsmith and grinding what professions i can.
The Experimentation will increase the chance of getting an amazing success during the experimentaion process. May not make much difference but willing to try it.
The Repair , well its repair, hopefully increases your chance at making a nice repair with few blemishes.
The Assembly, not sure how this works since technique decreases critical fails. Might improve stats?
The Technique, decrease chance for a critical fail (esp when using krayt tissues or high end components)

When the quests go live, I'm going to do it (I've already done all the holocrons and a few more extra professions (no, WS was not one of them
) ).

I'm going to slowly work at getting some of the skills. Just as something new to do.

Asembly isn't really worth it. I have +28 assembly and use some assembly food, and I have had a total of 2 critical failures when using them since I started with the food a few months ago.
As for exp, go to a research center, that is much faster than grinding a jedi

I'll at least look into the force crafting bonuses. But if it turns out it would take months of near constant effort to finish the Jedi trials to get them, then I'll probably pass. First priority, though, is to get my skilltapes.

No way for me. I never liked the grinding system, so i wont start it now. I also cant afford all the needed time for grinding and keep running my business, so i decided to not going for it. I for one have fun with crafting as it is at the moment.
If i will be gimped, when i am not a "force crafter", i will drop WS, simple as that.
But i highly doubt that a "force crafter" will get better results than an usual WS. If i am wrong and "force crafters" will be the better WS, we wont see a lot of new WS in the future.

I for one was thrilled to see the Force could be harnessed for more than mere combat. I very much would like to have my WS become FS to enhance my goods. The only question for me is, can someone with minimal combat skills learn non-combat Force abilities? I would hate to drop WS to learn combat, only to regrind WS once again.
(wouldn't it be nice if you could put your lobotomy (surrender) on a skill tape to re-learn later?)

I am debating, if the missions pull me away from custom orders I am not sure I want to do it, but if I can do the missions without much interference then I may give it a shot.
For me to do so though I will have to drop Merchant almost all the way, I will keep planetary advertisement, and 3 vendors, but everything else I'll have to drop.

you can drop it all. I was master merchant and dropped it all the way and still have 6 vendors all on the plantary map
once its mastered the only real bonus you get is reduced fee's. you dont lose anything by dropping merchant but the reduced fee's
