< older = Pricier ya know? >
I'm *so* against that rationale.
God, I hate seeing "Pre-Nerf blah for sale..... 1 billion creds!"
As much as I'd like to see 'date created' on stuff, it'd just be 'so I'd know'.... no real purpose to it at all.

I like the idea of dates on weapons. They wont be worth much to use but would be nice to have antiques. Like I have some krayted launcher pistols made a very long time ago and they are barely better then normal lp's now.

not going to happen. Database data is a premium real estate and every bit and byte has to be squashed and shrunk as much as possible to combat lag. Considering every time you walk into a house or open a vendor, there are literally hundreds of lookups for just you, multiply that by the other 3,000 people on the server at the same time. There are other ways to date weapons, but it is based on changes to game mechanics like when they fixed projectile barrels and feed mechanisms, nerfed the feed mech/power handler combo weapons etc. I can look at, for example, an FWG5 and almost be able to tell when it was made on my server because the stats changed multiple times as they fixed components.
Another thing to keep in mind is they have never given us back the item limits on houses we once had despite the 75 item per lot change was supposed to be a 'temporary fix' to deal with database problems.

I'd argue the reverse is true in SWG. Ignoring pre-nerf, weapons are going to get better over time, as better resources spawn. Since there really isn't much intrest in antiques in SWG, the newest weapons will probably be considered the most valuable.

So what do you think takes up more DB space: 100 100k stacks of resources or 10 1M stacks?
