Thread: Crafting powerups with 30% damage?
Ive tried and tried...
The best powerups I can make are Grips with +25% speed
Im using steel w/ OQ 990, inert w/ OQ 945
Is starting with a grip the wrong powerup? Ive tried others..but I get worse results
How do they do it..inquiring minds want to know
You should get Engineering IV and Domestic Arts IV so that you have 10 Artisan Experimentation points (if you are a human you can get by with one skill at level IV and the other at level III, due to the human's artisan experimentation bonus). That's the only way to get a bonus over 30% (getting a Great Success result with each experiment and assuming 900+ OQ resources, of course). If you want to get more than two bonus attributes in the power up you need to experiment each point one at a time; you can get three or even four bonuses this way.

You may want to try the Artisan forum, since Power Ups are made by Artisans and use Artisan Experimentation.
Sounds like you don't have enough experimentation to make good powerups. ![]()
Doh..Doh..Doh..Doh ...(the echo inside my empty head)
You are right D'Tox..wrong place to ask..weapons powerup questions dont belong in the weaponsmith forum
Although this really is an Artisan issue, there is one other thing to consider - if you really want to make ranged weapon powerups with both bonuses to both Maximum and Minimum damage, your only choice is the Muzzle.
I could not tell the difference between a 999 OQ Solid Petro Fuel and a 991 Aluminum that spawned on my server, but I can definitely tell the difference between a 956 OQ Chemical and a 904 OQ - my muzzles came out +32/+16 with the higher chemical, and a mere +32/+15.8. Very close, but the lower stuff stopped selling once the higher stuff was available.
