Thread: How come some weapon models are just bad?

I am most familiar with pistols and there are some models that just don't seem to stack up. The Striker, Power5, SR Combat and the Tangle all seem really bad compared to Scouts and FWG5. Not being a weaponsmith myself, I am wondering why there is such a difference between these weapons?

Striker doesn't use a power handler and its base stats seem very bad (even if it had a power handler, it'd still be far worse than FWG5), SR Combat and Power5 use specific metals that always have really crappy stats, tangle pistol uses a usually-crappy copper and doesn't have a slot for barrel, which would reduce speed by around 1.0.

POKEY THE PENGUIN SIG REMOVED BY GARVA BECAUSE "Just because you are crafty enough to get around the technicality of it being a .jpg or .gif does not mean it is not an image, it is not ascii art, it is an image" SO HERE IS MY NEW SIG.

That being said the Striker and Tangle are more situational. Striker is kinetic damage, Tangle is stun. Even a Striker will outdamage a tooled up FWG5 if your target has high heat resist but a kinetic vulnerability. I think this is the case with nightsisters.

Still, the Tangle's stat line looks pretty poor regardless. Addition of a barrel would certainly help things out. Looks like an oversight but of course not one they're in a hurry to remedy, since that would help us. Top of the priorities seem to be fixing those things that happen to be leaning in our favour, before even looking into fixing things that work against us. </bitter>
