There are lots of different types of items that can be looted from dead animals and NPC's. If you get looted items off a corpse, ask a Weaponsmith if it's usefull 
Just remember, just because you looted something off a corpse doesnt mean its worth a million credits. Alot of loot enhancements are no better than what we can make already
