I was throwing together some adv rifle/pistol barrels tonight in order to make some schems for guns that will possibly be effected most by the nerf, those being weapons that use gated resources.
I got to thinking that adv components themselves use gated resources and that it only takes 5-6 points to max the spd/dmg, and then throw the rest into range. Are we to take it now that we will ONLY be able to max the damage? If so will the damage be inflated to deal with this? As it stood we could put an ideal range mod of 12 or more on adv barrels and that is now going to be missing in the final combine. The same can probably be said for adv cores although not to such an extent.
Basically I see a lot of weapon users (ie everyone) getting shafted here. Lower ideal range mods hurt especially on the lower level weapons where players have not advanced enough to have their own skill mods. Going up against opponents with dodge/evasion is going to be harder giving wielders of pre-nerf weapons another advantage.
For that matter, throwing any extra points left over, into range on the final combine will also now not be possible hence compounding the problem.
Prepare to see a lot more "You shoot/swing at TT% but miss..." in your combat log.
Devs=Morons on this one.

Yep. That was one of the first things to cross my mind. Advanced vibro motor units. After I gated on damage, I could really bring the HAM costs down. No more. Ostrine in ABPH has never been good. Advanced barrels will be useless. Stocks even more so. Even the APFM and projectile barrels will take a hit. And I can bet that somewhere along the line, your crated items will get nerfed too. Just like they nerfed the pre-nerf FWG5's. Only now that they know how to do it, they won't take as long to implement it. That's why I am not going to make a bunch of stuff ahead of time. But of course the majority of players won't care until the nerf guns hit the market. Then you'll just be a lousy WS who doesn't know what he's doing. The dupers and cheaters who caused the economic problems in the first place will still be in the game. All in all, a real mess.
