Please tell me if this math seems sound. I posted this in another thread, but I doubt many people will see it, and wanted to make sure I got everything down right.

1. Requires 10 units of Polymer
2. Requires 5 units of Diatium Copper
3. Requires 5 units of Ostrine Carbonate Ore
4. Requires 8 units of Phrik Aluminum
5. Requires 16 units of Irolunn Reactive Gas

44 resources. Only 13 units have Conductivity.

Now, it's 66 / 33 (CO / OQ), and because 44 units have OQ, and only 13 units have CO, then the CO is worth a LOT more.

for the Diatum Copper, that 5 units count for 38% of the Conductivity. So, those 5 units count for 25% of the "total quality" of the weapon.

Here's how it breaks down:

1 unit of anything is worth 0.75% of the total result

OQ
Polymer : 10 / 44 : 7.5% of total PH Quality
Copper : 5 / 44 : 3.75% of total PH Quality
Ore : 5 / 44 : 3.75% of total PH Quality
Aluminum : 8 / 44 : 6% of total PH Quality
Gas : 16 / 44 : 12% of total PH Quality

1 unit of anything in the PH with CO is worth 5.07% of the total result

CO
Copper : 5 / 13 : 25.38% of total PH Quality
Aluminum : 8 / 13 : 40.62% of total PH Quality

(Due to rounding the total comes out to 99%)

So, now we'll go with how much 1 point of OQ is worth versus 1 point of CO on the copper, and the alum

Copper : 25.38% for CO : 1000 CO == perfect : 0.02538% increase per point of CO
Aluminum : 40.62% for CO : 1000 CO == perfect : 0.04062% increase per point of CO

and, for OQ
Polymer : 7.5% for OQ : 1000 OQ == perfect : 0.0075% increase per point of OQ
Copper : 3.75% for OQ : 1000 OQ == perfect : 0.00375% increase per point of OQ
Ore : 3.75% for OQ : 1000 OQ == perfect : 0.00375% increase per point of OQ
Aluminum : 6% for OQ : 1000 OQ == perfect : 0.006% increase per point of OQ
Gas : 12% for OQ : 1000 OQ == perfect : 0.012% increase per point of OQ

now, we'll take the two resources listed:

Asevate CD 713 OQ 866
Iesewi CD 768 OQ 753

Asevate: + 18.09594% for CO, + 3.2475% for OQ
Iesewi: + 19.49184 for CO, +2.82375 for OQ

Asevate : 21% increase
Iesewi : 22% increase

KABLAM, the Iesewi will increase you by 1%, which has a chance to round you up 1 point on damage!

Your math, while insane , seems correct, as my findings in the game world reflect this exactly.

My handlers have 1 more point in min damage using the iesewi copper, despite the fact that it would appear on the surface that the Asevate would be better. All other resources were identical. I ran four of each and always got the following numbers:

Iesewi 19-37 -0.37

Asevate 18-37 -0.37

It sure would be nice if SOE would document the formulas used in the game-- but that would require that they actually KNOW them-- which I doubt.

ok the math is correct. I agree with it there for sure. Try Kidiaan Phrik Aluminum instead of the Durenciate Phrik.

So when comparing the CO/OQ stats on the metals for APHs, a 87/13 weighting is more accurate than a 66/33?

im sure SOE knows the formulas exactly, but like Everquest they dont like to let too much out.

interesting / I'd never really bothered to work that out

so lets see for ABRB
66% CD 33% SR
85 units have conductivity
93 units units in total so:

((0.66 * 85 / ((0.66 * 85) + (0.33 * 93)) * 100 = 68.36%

so 68.4% conductivity
and 31.6% Shock resist

assuming my math is correct
not vastly off the quoted 66% but interesting ot have the true values

oops ok completely ignore the equasion I just wrote its totally wrong

thats not how I did it : I think the values I wrote are correct though

All that schooling in math just so you could use it in a video game

that sounds about right, someone did a lot of spreadsheet calculations a long time ago and figured it was roughly 90/10 con/oq on ABPH

Wow, that's quite impressive... and it seems quite accurate as well.
