Thread: got ws today, not getting xp, plz help a newb

this is another account, i've been playing since the first day the game was released.


anyhow, i reinstalled the game and now it works. i've been pulling my hair out about this all freaking day.


thx for tryin ta help.

oh, also, i had to delete all the files in the star wars galaxies folder after i uninstalled it.


got my macros back too, woohoo

it happened to me a few times. What i do is just change the item im crafting for a while then switch back. I tihnk it was pistol barrels that did it to me a few times. blaster rifle barrels didnt. If all else fails log out, then log back in and try again. Also is it durring a macro that this is happening? I found sometimes in macros that it will jump to the next station looking like you didnt get XP, When in fact it was just a failure and moved along before giving you a chanceto see the failure screen.

I thought they fixed this last patch, but I guess not. Several times on TC my exp got stuck and it wasn't displaying any exp gains in any skills, but all the exp I gained while bugged would show up after the next server reboot. While grinding medic crafting on live last month, I noticed that the crafting macro would sometimes screw up and not give me any exp for anything I made using it. Using /dump and restarting the macro would fix that, but it'd just happen again in a few minutes.

You really don't know what you're talking about. You may be trying to say that some of the "weapons" crafted under general crafting don't give WS xp otherwise you're wrong. Sorry if I'm presenting like an ass but really get your facts straight.

There is a graphics bug that sometimes makes your xp fail to show up when you craft. Reboot and run a full scan to be sure. If this soesn't do the trick submit a CSR ticket.

Um... I didn't realise that "The only weapons that give you Weaponsmith XP are the ones that you learned how to make when you became a Novice Weaponsmith" was so complicated.......


To qualify that, sure the weapons you get higher up in the WS skilltree *also* grant you XP. But any other schematic you have, that you gained from a profession other than WS, do NOT grant you WS XP.



I can't really state any more plainly than that.......

hey,


i'm standing next to my weapons crafting station and i'm using a weapons crafting tool. I make items in the weapons category, but I'm not getting any xp. I would just like to make enough xp to firearms I, then do rifle barrels, but for some reason, i'm such a n00b and can't figure out what to make til then.


any help would be appreciated.

Here's a crazy question: What are you crafting?



The only weapons that give you Weaponsmith XP are the ones that you learned how to make when you became a Novice Weaponsmith, ie:



Blade Vibro Unit


Blaster PowerHandler


Blaster Pistol Barrel


C12 Fragmentation Grenade



And so on.

My guess is that you are grindin out CDEF weapons which are only going to give you general crafting experience as the schems for these are acquired in the Artisan tree. Best item to grind from 0000 to 0100 is going to be Weapon Upgrade Kits. And, if you want to, you might actually be able to sell/give some or all of your grind WUK's to a Smuggler.

That seems rather odd. One other option I can offer up. Make sure that you are making an actual blaster pistol barrel and not just a "barrel" which is a weapon powerup...that schematic is acquired in the artisan tree also. Again, your best bet for quickest grind to 0100 is going to be Weapon Upgrade Kits. I believe they require 20 metal and 10 chemical. Very quick, only three resource spots to fill, and they give you 60 exp per (same as a blaster-pistol barrel)

i am not making general items. i am making weaponsmith items, and i'm getting 0 xp. I'm going to reinstall the game, cuz i'm also having a problem where my macros won't save. maybe that will work.


look at the date on my account there, also, that's not even the original date, i've been playing since DAY 1 of retail release.
