I have a conspiracy theory that due to my previous ill-treatment towards ignorant CSR's, my character has been in some way mutated into a strangely functioning creature. However, I thought I would pose a question towards you, my fellow weaponsmiths, to perhaps clarify some of my confusion.
I am a master weaponsmith mon-cal on Radiant. I use excellent Bespin Port and excellent Pyowhatever cake, a 44.3 crafting station, 14.97 tool, and wear the weaponsmith tool belt. I do not have any SEAs. With all of those, my weapon assembly shows to be 110/115. Does this seem correct, or are some of my points not adding up correctly? However, that is not the strangeness I speak of..
Using the best ditanium that I have found (perhaps there is better, I am not sure), I have gotten 42/42(or is it 43) advanced cores. Now, I am aware that if I get a less than great/amazing success, the numbers are going to be affected greatly. Just recently, however, after getting a good or moderate success on one of my experiment attempts, the final value for the damage was 11/50! While the 11 does suck, getting 50 for the max damage blew my mind. Have any of you other WS's gotten higher than normal numbers for mishaps??

I am either WS on radiant, am either Calamari and have a belt. I can aswer u based on my experience that it can be.
If u use the best ditanium in the server u wont be near of the maximum. This means that the values of min and max are aleatory after experimentation. If I remember right I have made them 30-40 or similar. The total damage of both values in similar in all prototypes I made. Only the distribution is diferent.Im not sure but with over 900 quality ditanium the values would seem to be 50-50 for the core.
U can try to use de genosian core with white/yellow cubes and solidifyng agent. this will enhace ur damage much and if im in the right u can use this cores either for normal weapons.

Your question is a general crafting question not specifically a weaponsmith crafting question.
You can get abnormal results when you get something other than a great or amazing success. Depending on what point in the experimentation process you are in will effect what stats get altered when you fail or get moderate success. This is not as uncommon as you would imagine and it happens in all crafting professions. Sometimes a mistake in real life causing unexpected results can be both bad and good. In the case of experimentation it dropped your min damage while increasing your max. When I was a master Doc I used to run across this on occasion where It would increase my med use and decrease the duration of buffs but would also increase the overallpower. Usually you are better off getting great success across the board, but on some rare, totally uncontrollable ocassions you can end up with a better product.
Hope this answers your questions.
