Aquired a new resource and decided to make a few weapons to compare statistics to old stock etc. Made a 2.1 157 dmg Base Scatter prototype. This I was well impressed with, so figured I would make a schematic and knock a few out.

62 attempts with the same ores, components, crafting stn, crafting tool, door open, facing north with one finger stuck in my ear and no-way could I reproduce the gun. Amazing Assemblies etc etc (Currentley 4/4/4/2 FS Crafter). and could only produce a gun of 2.2 152 dmg... in WS terms thats quite a stat loss.

So infuriated I sent a Ticket to those CSR guys, asking basically did I miss something?.

This is the CSR response.

Its intentional.

Anybody else have this experience?

I believe there is a bug where suddenly you are able to raise the stats by around 10% higher than the normal values.

This has happened to me twice in the last 3 days, where I was able to craft a 400 damage DXR6b rifle instead of the ususal 363 damage and an 229 damage green cube Sonic pistol where 219 would have been the right value.

I have heard of that bug before from other weaponsmith, but it did never happen to me before... now twice in the last few days, so something is really afoot here...

On the armorsmith forum there is a long thread where they talk about havinga "critical success" during assembly. This is supposed to allow you to receive exceptional results during experimentation on that particular item. I would guess that the chance of this critical success is less than 1% per assmbly attempt. It is not supposed to be a bug, so it is intentional.

My theory is that this may have been intended to keep crafters crafting (as opposed to mostly factory work). I am not sure that I want to make hundreds of assemblies just to get one that turns out a little better. Maybe if I get really bored.

If you do make anything that is out of the ordinairy you should make a schematic of it. The chance of reproducing it is extremely small.

I craft alot of geo hammers by hand. I've gotten a few of these. I actually had a geo hammer with a max dmg of over 500. After a beautiful slice, it was 3.6 spd.

I am pretty sure this is a bug. Like it is when you get an amazing filling the last boxes resulting in lower stats than usual. When this happens you get a few point less damage and one more exp point to spend.
