Thread: 2 questions for experienced smiths

My firstquestion is kind of hard to word. I only have 10 pts. of experimentation and with the weapons I have been making, I ve beenexperimenting the damage to max and then with the additional points I work on efficiency. Is there any specific weapon types, that this is not a good practice. For example should I be willing to sacrifice damage for ham costs, in say, carbinesor even a specific carbine. I have never been a master carbineer so I don'tknow if a person typically runs out ofhamor not, also is range more important in some weapons. I just feel like my weapons are one dimensional(damage dealers)and would like to make weapons that would appeal to more players. What are your thoughts?

My second questions goes along the same lines. How do you guys determine whether to usean optional component(scopes and stocks)?I put em in pretty much every weapon I make,is that a good idea? I keep goingback toham costs and the additional components add to this.

I didn't really wordthese questions thatwell but I think you guys will know what I mean.(probably been at this point in your weaponsmith career, yourself)

1. Always Always Always (did I mention Always?)experiment the damage/speed bar all that you can, as far as the buyer is concerned damage is everything. And besides, one point in efficency lower the HAM like 2-3 points, so basically it is pointless for the final combine.

2. I always add a low HAM scope to every weapon that have one of those slots, I generally use a standard scope and experiment the HAM down to 0-3 points (You cando a scope that add 10-15 ideal range with zero HAM costs).
For stocks I add an advanced to the high sellers (T21's andLasers), but some smiths add one to every weapon equipped with a stock slot. You should (imho)not use one when crafting Flamers and LLC's cause they already deal a lot of damage and the added speed is bad for commandos/bountyhunters.

Man that is exactly the information, I needed thank you so much.

When you say standard scope, do you mean a non-advanced?

Grisbilen got it right, i got a few things to add to your first question though.

As said _always_ max the damage/speed line. In some cases, e g power hammers, pikes etc, range mods make a big difference for the user. If you get any free exp point i would recommand you to put them there. Unfortunatly most buyers dont even look on the HAM costs, even if they should so theres not reallya point in experimenting on that. For all high end weapons, e g scyhtes, geo blasters etc, you should always put the extre points into durability to make the weapon last longer. This is really important for geo blasters as they have terrible condition if you dont experiment on it.

Hope it helps and good luck with your smithing.

Yep.

And as Murran said: After filling the damage/speed bar for special weapons (Krayt, Schytes, etc), put remaining incondition so they last longer.
