On the Artisan boards, they said that going point by point one at a time made a better product. Is that true for ws as well- or will you get the same result doing all the points you can at one time?

Thank you!

I know for power ups, if you do one point at a time supposidly you have a better chance at making 3, 4 or 5 stat power ups.

For weapons, If you do 1 at a time, and you are in a research center (+15% bonus toexperimentation) you have a better chance at Amazing successes, an amazing success will increast the percentage of what is allowed for the material combo you are using, so if you normally would use 8 experiment points to cap out your weapon, and you get 2 amazing successes, you might free up 1 more experiment point, giving you 3 points instead of two points to put else where.

Before our city got research center, I've always done 3 at a time for experimenting, now I do 1 or 2 at a time. (I do 2 at a time for the first 3 experiments, then one a time after that.

on the other side, using all points at once does keep the complexity of an item low and thus keeps the production time low.

basically i dream of a game system that does not need to help NPCs by giving them ungodly amounts hitpoints, resistances and damage, where there is no need for special damage reductions in PvP...

Advanced stocks are bugged and have screwy experimentation, everything else should end up with the same stats regardless of how many points you use at a time.

yeah, you have to be careful you don't put to many points into it, because it maxes out and if you go over say your ressouces cap at 94% then whats the point of experminiting beyond that? there isn't......

and yeah most people I see and watch like to do 1 to a few at a time, never the whole bar

For my schematics I fill all the boxes then experiment, then fill any additional boxes that open up, experiment, rinse, repeat until damage is maxed out. It usually goes something like 6/7, 1-2, then maybe 1 more if it isn't maxed out. I usually have 1 or 2 points left to put somewhere else.

I've noticed that sometimes I can get all great successes, but the overal % improvement is less than it should be, like I'm getting only 6% per experimentation point, instead of 7% increase per point. If I don't like the final result, naturally I toss it and try again.

I usually do several sample schematics just to make sure that I've made the weapon the best I can, thendestroy the ones that are inferior. Using this approach, my weapons are comparable, if not superior to, other master weaponsmiths on my server.

welcome to the "magic numbers" game i swear this makes no sense

it makes such a big difference you have no idea, i get such wierd results i want to cry half the time

-1 at a time will produce overall equal items min/max damage usuallyfaster speed for example

lets say my adv weapon stocks 32 min 32 max +.289 to speed

(now take that same item)

-6 at a time, then finishing off in groups i.e 1 at a time or 2/3 will produce a higher max damage item, lower min, but low speed

I end up with 25 min 35 max +.489 to speed, (something like that)

your going to have to tinker around with different items to get different results. i find 1 at a time is best myself

I believe the diffioulty increase the more points you use at once. So going one at a time gives you the best chance of getting high successes. However, at some point your skill will get to where you could use clumps or all your points at once and do the same thing. What you have to figure out is whether getting 7 'great' adds up to more points thatn just one big 'great' or the rare 'amazing'.
