Thread: Crafting Question: What's Causing this Error: Can't find Draft Schematic?

I'm not sure of the error word by word but I've been working with it for the past 3-4 hours and I still keep getting it.

Its by no means any big deal but I'm just curious what is causing it.

I'll be fine - using my macro and crafting up a storm for 5...8.... sometimes 10 minutes at a time then all of a sudden BOOM out of nowhere while I haven't been doing anything differently I get some message that says something a little like this "error: can't find draft schematic" and such.

What puzzles me is nothing has changed, and the schematic is right there!?

Appreciate any of the help you master smiths can offer my rookie skills.

I've seen this a time or twenty and my guess is that due to lag or whatnot, the crafting tool proceeds to the next step before the schematic is loaded/selected by your macro.

Ooo good call good call, I wonder if there is a pause you can place somewhere throughout the macro that will protect/prevent this "freak accident lag" I've tried in a few places but I don't think I had any success with it. If anyone has any ideas how to avoid them feel free to place them it would be greatly appreciated.

Actually,

I've experienced this numerous times. Lag could be a factor.

Basically, when you double-click on your resources, it takes a second to load into the schematic. If you don't click fast enough, or if for some reason you experience enough lag so that the resources are still loading as the macro takes you to the next crafting stage, then you get the message. It is not intermittent, and will happen 100% of the time under these circumstances.

3 seconds pause is about the fastest you can manage for the resource adding stage.

This should work without the above error as long as you are in a low lag (none busy) area of the server

If you are macroing outside Coronet starport or suchlike then you will need a much longer pause.

Hope this helps.

N.B. I tried with a 2 second pause and it was so fast I could not enter in the /dump command and had to restart my entire system. As it froze when Alt-tabbing out
