Hi, all, I'm planning on taking up Master Weaponsmith with my alternate character...and I have a question that's really bugging me.
Which is the best species for being a WS:
I'm assuming either Rodian or Mon Cal since they have +10 weapon assembly mods.
any help will be appreciated.

That can help but only wookies can make bowcasters. But also it will be hard to get high enough + tapes to get +20 exp and +25 assembly into a wookie suit.

I have a Master WEaponsmith and he is a Mon Calimari. I love playing him. The question you should be asking yours is what other professions you want to make him. I selected Mon Calimari cause he is a total crafting person. Mon Clai's get an Architect bonus as well. So i have him Master Weaponsmith/ Master Architect/ Master Artisan.

I grinded out mws yesterday with my alt so that i can make my own polearms (wep smiths are dropping like flies on my server) and I had an easy question for you guys.
with +20 in wep experimentation skill tapes i have 12 points to play with. If i get +20 force experimentation will that make me a 14 point wep smith?
thanks in advance

No it will not. What that mod does is increase the success of your experimentation rolls. For example, if you were to experiment without it, twelve times on a weapon. You may get one amazing success, and the rest would be great successes. With the force sensitive you may see up to 8 or 9 amazing on twelve rolls. And, just so know, a great success = 7% increase, amazing = 8% increase.

I believe so, and the food your referring to is actually a drink, Bespin Port. The food, Pyolian Cake, affects assembly.

thanks very much. Im really enjoying making my own polearms. I can fine tune my experimentation to cap my speed based on my polearm speed skill tapes which is very convenient. As long as i experiment my wep speed to 2.45, my mod speed will cap (1.3 sec) and i can use my experimentation in other areas and focus my slicing on crit %. its a lot of fun!

It certainly can be fun when you tweak your own weapons for yourself. And if your a polearm user, don't forget to try to loot some of the Nym's motors that add to max damage. It won't add alot to your damage, but it should free up at least 2 experiments and you'll end up with the same damage, maybe a little more.

definitely! I already have a few dozen nym motors and 9 ns vibro motors (2+ years as a master pikeman will do that hehe) Im really exited about crafting cyro lances and electric polearms since they can take aklay bones and power cubes.
