I was wondering the same thing but I doubt we will get anything new. It would make our munitions more useful though, in 2 years I only ever sold 2 crates of mines.

Well I think it would be a nice thing if we got some part of these new mines and it seems like an obvious place to give us a bit of content. I dont know if Mor-Dan is still around. If not then I fear we are without a Corro atm

For the most part since ranger seems to be getting the schematic, it resembles a lot like how commando was during the SWG Beta with grenades (we were to craft our own munitions), plus seeing that scouts/rangers always crafted traps...it most likely will come to this.

However, it would be nice if weaponsmiths could play a role, especially since there are mine schematics in our datapads...

I've logged this in as a question of my own on the Corro forums, by the way.

Edit: Also, this topic has come up...but not specifically with weaponsmiths playing a role in it.

Weaponsmiths can make the Anti-Vehicle mine, Anti-personal mine, and another mine type, i cant remember. It would be nice if the WS made the munition, the ranger applied the special "tweaks" such as the bio targeting, stealth, or the radial detonation and then let the Cmdo place enitre mine fields while allowing the rangers to still place the limited number of single mines.

In my opinion this might be an opportunity to get some love to munitions crafting as a whole (ie that heavy warhead mechanism that has no part to play in a weapon schematic?), and help out not just one profession...but three...

Thats exactly what I was thinking, there is definitely a good opportunity for Commandos here

I recently read a comment by one of the devs that said there will be new weapon schematics in the obi-wan expansion. I don't know what kind though, nothing specific was said other than WS will get new weapon schematics. It would be nice though if we can put heavy warheads and the chemical warhead to use. I wasted some good resources crafting some of those things a while back only to find that I couldn't put them in anything.

Heck, I think the rocker launcher should use the heavy warheads instead of 8 proton grenades, I mean the proton grenades use medium warheads anyway, so shouldn't 8 proton grenades equal 2 heavy warheads? Using the heavy would give rocket launchers some real kick too, then we can see some real commandos in SWG

i dont think we would be needed....the entire trapping line in scout is devoted to the ranger crafting his/her own traps and such. The ranger profession, as much as noone wantes to see this...is a 50% crafting profession. I dont think w eaponsmith should have to craft a rangers means of survival. Thats what a rangeer exists for...to survive in his surroundings with minimal help from outsiders
